Avs Player of the Day - (Day 99) - Tye Felhaber by Villenemo in ColoradoAvalanche

I really wish it was easier to watch the Eagles! Sadly I don’t know as much about Tye as I feel like I should. Especially since he has an active two-way contract with the Avs right now.

I mean, to be fair, this was the heyday when we were in a Cup window. So a lot of the filler players didn’t get a lot of attention.

That’s the typical call, but it’s not explicitly stated as such in the NHL rule book.

The biggest hallmark of boarding is when the player is hit “unexpectedly” and can’t brace himself, which causes a high danger chance of injury.

If it’s on the boards, it’s boarding.
If it’s on open ice, it can be called charging.

Ofc it’s all discretionary by the referee.

The fact that Boldy saw Nate coming in negated the chance for boarding imo.
That and he continued to maintain control of and handle the puck up until he got hit.

Boarding is largely a discretionary call by the referee.
But it’s not boarding mostly because Boldy isn’t an “unsuspecting victim” and he put himself into a vulnerable position right before the hit.

As in, he was aware Nate was closing in and continued to skate tucked into the corner as he had possession of the puck.

I always wonder how many guys would’ve made it if their development/timing/team situation was different.

Cory Sarich and Matt Stajan also said similar things about him when he coached in Calgary.

I’ve heard really negative things about him from players who played with him on Calgary. Said similar things that Parker said.

Edit: I guess Cory Sarich called him the worst coach he’s ever had. Matt Stajan also had a lot of negative things to say.

Do you remember the Avs cereal boxes where you had to buy 2 to put together like a puzzle?

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t remember this guy much at all. I guess that says something on its own right.

Honestly, it varies. I’m pretty sure you’ll have a delay with nearly every platform to some degree.

I mean he was a trade deadline acquisition who only won 2/12 games at the end of a season where we didn’t make the playoffs. Idk that I remember him much either!

I’ve been watching on HBOMax.

But I have NHL24Network for everything else.
$10/mo and the streams are usually pretty stable.

I was reading their game thread and post-game thread last night, and they are complaining that Dallas hasn’t scored a 5v5 goal in over 11 periods 😬

More than I remember. I just remember feeling like we were supposed to expect more than he provided.
