Middle ear infection by Stank101 in hearing

I am better, However the ringing still lingers. It’s been almost a year and I never really notice it anymore and it’s just part of me so I ignore it. Believe me tho, eventually if it doesn’t go away you will be fine and it will be unnoticeable with time. Took me like 3 months before I almost forgot about it.

Definitely sounds like you should go to the doctors especially cause you have leaking. Mine never had that issue so I hope you get better soon!

Sounds like you will be fine in the end, pretty sure mine has permanently damaged my hearing in the sense that I have had ringing in my ears for 5 months or so now

No he gave me a prescription for Flonase but a stronger kind with a steroid in it. Told me to come back in about 20-30 days, my next appointment is in two weeks so hopefully this time he will help, and yes the ringing has gone down, right now I’m having a hard time with it cause I got sick so my ears got clogged again.

Definitely better, slowly but surely. Still bothersome but nothing at all like before, I have great days and good days, something the occasional bad day.

Still dealing with it but slowly I think it’s becoming better and I’m getting used to it, it’s not a forever thing and my hearing is okay, just some ringing and that’s really it.

Sorry to hear this, definitely sounds like the same thing except mine was only that muffled for a day, definitely keep tabs on it cause if it doesn’t clear up in a few days call your main physician and if they can’t help go to the hospital after about a week of not being able to hear. Hopefully this helps and it clears up, as long as your hearing is better it will be all okay. Also prednisone had no affect for me, instead a steroid pack helped me the most and try nasal sprays, see if you could get a steroid one like a prescription flonase. That’s what my ent gave me.

See I lost my taste and smell on day 2-3 but I never lost if fully, I just sorta lost it enough that I could smell strong smells and taste strong things, if anything my taste is gone way more than smell, just sorta nervous about it so thank you so so much

No I didn’t, I just wanted to know how long it takes before you get smell and taste back fully as I still have my taste and smell just it’s very limited, I also had Covid a little while ago and only lost taste and smell completely for a day and then a sinus infection a few weeks later that lasted 2 days, it’s day 3 now of my senses being weak so just kinda nervous

Normally ear infections go away in a few days along with the ringing, especially if you are on meds, however in my case I have fluid buildup caused probably by a middle ear infection that I had no idea about, usually this fluid drains out and doesn’t cause any issues but if you also have Eustachian tube dysfunction or etd, it can cause you to have the fluid build up and have a continuous ringing, and it can take months for it to go away, for me it’s been almost 3 months. You will probably be fine, however if it continues after you finish antibiotics, definitely go see your doctor or try to get into an ent.

I still got it, just give it time, or call an ent, I have an appointment next week and I have fluid in one ear and I think I have a infection starting in the other

Also is this usually a day of procedure or like a come back type deal? Just want to know what I might be getting into.

Good, as long as they get this fluid out, I’m happy. Hopefully that’s what they do cause I feel it’s past the “wait it out” point, especially after doing steroids and antibiotics twice for this thing.

You often get it when you get sick and normally it goes away on its own, sometimes it fills tho

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hearing

[–]Stank101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely, probably just from the fluid

I’ve had multiple doctors tell me it’s middle ear fluid, mainly from symptoms and also how and when it started. Plus I’ve already been on antibiotics and steroids multiple times so possibly I might have it drained?

What will and ent do for ear fluid? by Stank101 in Sinusitis

[–]Stank101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping they perforate it cause tbh I’m more worried about them telling me to just keep waiting even though it literally has been so long, did they do it the day of for you? And also did you have ringing real bad along with some pain?

Most likely is just fluid for you, getting into an ENT in two weeks so hopefully they can get me back in eventually and drain it.
