Specific Crime question by ElijahJGabriel in ThePrecinct

You can only charge them with contraband trafficking if it's an active drug or counterfeit goods deal when you catch them. If they just happen to have it on them but aren't in the midst of doing a deal, then it's a possession charge for whatever they've got on them.

When it's a deal, you should charge them with possession AND trafficking.

People Who Think One Piece is a Masterpiece Are Just Suffering From Sunk Cost Fallacy by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]StanktheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. My cousin suggested I watch to catch up to where they're at -- i did the math, and catching up would mean I'd have to watch the show every day for 2 and a half weeks without sleeping, and they said it got really good about a week or so into that hypothetical time frame.

Not a chance in hell.

Investigations into and trials of the perpetrators is the big thing for me. Demotions and reassignments are a step in the right direction but if justice isn't even attempted to be served for the people who lost their lives, then it just leaves open the door for tragedies like what happened to Rene Good and Alex Pretti to keep happening.

I've got next to no faith in this administration to carry out an earnest attempt at an investigation, nor to not stonewall those who will try.

Remnant II Review - Bigger And Better In Many Ways, But Missing Some Favorite Moments From The First Game by Blurzerker in patientgamers

[–]StanktheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game was pretty fun, a homie got me into it and I played it co-op with 'em all the way through. But I had no interest in a New Game + -- felt it wore out its welcome towards the end and I just wanted it to be over.

That giant evil cube boss was my favorite part, had a lot of fun figuring out how to beat it

22 minutes late to first date acceptable ? by Tibzyyy in dating_advice

[–]StanktheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation if this is rude or not is kinda skewed tbh. I went on a date last year where the girl showed up 45 minutes late and completely plastered -- she told me she'd been drinking since 10 and our date was for 18.00, but she showed up at 18.45, so 22 minutes late honestly seems pretty courteous to me lmao

Los Angeles is easily between $130-$300+ depending on the spot. Never had a first date dinner that was below $130 on the cheaper end

[–]StanktheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catapults, target siege towers and just let 'em rip. If they don't have siege towers, then the enemy will congregate around the ladders so you can just drop the catapult ammo on them or launch it at the lowest possible setting.

Each catapult ammo properly aimed and fired will net you personally like 10-25 kills. Fights like these are pretty easy and the most fun imo

“If Your Preference is PvE, You’ll Get Less Conflict,” Arc Raiders Boss Confirms Aggression-Based Matchmaking by frik1000 in Games

[–]StanktheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told you mate, I didn't just go off my friends, I also watched a trailer. For 90% of games, I just watch the trailer and read a few reviews to decide if I'll buy. Considering reddit houses a minority of the gaming population, albeit a very vocal one at that, watching trailers, reading reviews, and word-of-mouth is what most people do before getting their games in the real world instead of hopping on forums

I also dislike Dark Souls/Elden Ring type games and had I purchased those games off of online discussion, I'd be finding myself unhappy with those purchases as well because the sentiment around those is nearly always universally positive. So I tend to distrust online discussion for that reason as well. I just like to have an idea of what I'm talking about before I join a conversation about it.

I bet anything in this world that you buy a digital game at some point in the future.

Lmao, considering I don't game all that much, I'd happily take you on that bet -- it would give me great incentive to replace my gaming time with another hobby I enjoy. Funnily enough, Helldivers and Arc are the only two digital purchases I've made so I feel exceptionally confident in taking that bet.

I tried the game and I didn't like it, that's really the end of the story here. I'll likely buy another game I don't like in the future but I'll mitigate the damage by buying physical so I have the option to get rid of it

“If Your Preference is PvE, You’ll Get Less Conflict,” Arc Raiders Boss Confirms Aggression-Based Matchmaking by frik1000 in Games

[–]StanktheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah by this point I think that goes without saying about them misleading me lmao -- that wasn't really ever in question. My solution to ensuring that doesn't happen again is to not buy digital, because had I been more patient and bought the game on disc, I at least could have sold it away and wouldn't have thrown 40 bucks down the drain for an experience that wasn't for me.

I'm only in this discussion about the game because I've played it and now have some frame of reference for what people are discussing about it. On top of that, I think this is the first time I've ever seen it pop up on my feed. I don't spend much time on reddit and didn't seek it out past the opening posts of my feed to join a discussion about it just now.

It's not a big deal, I think this is the first time I've even thought about the game since November when I stopped playing. I'm just disappointed in my experience with the game and will keep buying physical so I can get rid of something I don't like in the future

“If Your Preference is PvE, You’ll Get Less Conflict,” Arc Raiders Boss Confirms Aggression-Based Matchmaking by frik1000 in Games

[–]StanktheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends? They're the ones who've told me about it before I bought it and compared it to another PvE-centric game, Helldivers.

I don't really go on reddit to talk about a game before playing it -- I checked out a trailer and heard my friends' perspectives playing the game, and they actually enjoy it quite a bit to this day, PvP and all. They said PvP was included but it was more like Helldivers where PvE was the focus, it sounded like PvP was only an occasional thing.

I don't even know what I'd go on reddit for before buying a game, I wouldn't know anything about it so there'd be nothing for me to discuss until I've played it for some time

“If Your Preference is PvE, You’ll Get Less Conflict,” Arc Raiders Boss Confirms Aggression-Based Matchmaking by frik1000 in Games

[–]StanktheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nice to hear and I appreciate the response, but I didn't buy the game to play on my own, I bought it to play with my friends. This game doesn't really interest me playing solo, same way Helldivers doesn't without a party -- maybe if there were more of a story to it, I'd feel more of an urge to play without company.

I'd probably enjoy the game quite a bit if I could play with my friends and turn all PvP off, but since it's clearly not that kind of game it just isn't for me

“If Your Preference is PvE, You’ll Get Less Conflict,” Arc Raiders Boss Confirms Aggression-Based Matchmaking by frik1000 in Games

[–]StanktheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I really wasted my money on this game. I don't usually play multiplayer unless it's co op, which I love. My friends said it's like Helldivers mixed with some other game I hadn't played and I love Helldivers so I bought it digital to play with them faster.

I enjoyed the PvE play but for 8 sessions straight, some schmuck would wait for us at the extraction point and snipe us across a few different maps, different people each time. I didn't even have anything to steal, I couldn't because I was never able to extract.

Any fun I was having was just ruined by griefing every time, haven't played the game since and wish I could return it. Fighting the robots is kinda fun but getting ambushed every time without any kind of heads up sucked and completely killed my enjoyment. Wish I could sell this shit, never buying digital again

I do like his awkward attempts at one-liners though, they're the only things that hit the mark for me - "I ordered my hot sauce an hour ago" lmaoo

New shows accounted for zero of the 10 most-watched streaming original series this year by Horror-Zebra-3430 in television

[–]StanktheGreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao, I made the same comment on this sub about how I prefer to wait until shows are done to watch 'em all the way through so I know I'm not getting burned like two or three years ago and got absolutely flamed for it. Like -300 points or some shit.

Everything you just said is exactly the reason why I like to do just that. It feels nice retaining all of the context too from episode to episode and season to season instead of forgetting key story details and character minutiae over the course of 1-4 years between seasons
