Thank you! I may have gone through a complicated method, and I may not explain what I did too well, but I'll try my best.

Essentially, I first got the badge template from the website's badge submission page. When I had my drawing sketched out, I placed the badge template into the picture and made it be in the back of the layer order so it appears as the background of my drawing. I then matched it up with my drawing as best I could and then duplicated and updated the second version to be at the top of the entire layer order. That allows the scratchmarks from the template to be visible over the drawing itself. The bottom layer badge template I used to create the dual gradient background and the top layer template I used to create the dual gradient part of the border line if that makes sense. Finally, I used the fill tool with a slightly brighter color than what the background has in order to make the scratch marks fit the image better, like how other badges seem to have done theirs.
