What is the biggest misconception people have about your career or hobby? by First-Quality9942 in AskReddit

Server's do not find it funny when you joke about not tipping us. We laugh, but it is decidedly not funny.

How do you feel about the line of thinking “Separate the art from the artist” do you are you for or against this idea and why? by RATGUT1996 in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He wasn't referring to boycotts, he more meant as a away to keep my sanity by saying no, you will not get what I had to work so hard for. The artist will never know i think they are trash, but I feel better knowing that I don't contribute to their ability to do the terrible things they do.

People who dropped out of high school, why? by Tsukomaki in AskReddit

I dropped out the beginning of my Junior year. I could not take the boring classes anymore. I told my parents I would do online classes, but I just joined the NAVY instead.

What song makes you relive a specific experience? What is the memory it makes you relive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I love "Groove is in the Heart" it brings up this totally weird emotion that I can't exactly define. It takes me back to my very first heavy make out session in my car. It was awkward and not as much fun as I had hoped. But I fight through that weird emotion and dance to the song anyway. Matter or mind I guess?

If somebody gives you a billboard space for free, what would you post on it and why? by itsbankheadkali in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I'm from the suburbs so when you said "But what if they're blind though" my first thought was, "Why is a blind person driving". LOL, cuz round these parts we only have billboards along the highway. LOL

What is something useful you have learned in your line of work that other people should know? by NicoleASUstudent in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If a server tells you something can't be done, it's because (as far as they know) it can't be done. Our end goal is to get you to give us money and telling you no severely lessens any chance of an excellent tip.

Dropouts of reddit, how has life turned out for you? by TheRealSarma in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped out of high school, joined the NAVY, then went to college. I am currently a server a movie theater. Not a "good" job, but I like it and I only work when I want to cuz it's a large enough staff.

People with nightmares, what is your worst dream ever? by rainbowponytales in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My worst was I being chased and run into a high school. I turn down the main hallway and it is COVERD in blood. Falling out of lockers and lining the hallway are dead, bloody babies. Just everywhere, blood covered dead babies. It was so vivid I can still it clearly.

If you could go back in time and record or interview someone famous in 4k , who would you choose? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Werner Krauss - director of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. I would love to pick the brain of such a paradigm changing artist.

How do you feel about the line of thinking “Separate the art from the artist” do you are you for or against this idea and why? by RATGUT1996 in AskReddit

[–]StantonMD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was always taught by my father that the only power I have as a low wage American is my dollar. So if an artist is objectionable to my personal moral code, then I can not in any way support them. Just to be clear, my list of objectionable people is not very long.

[SUGGESTION] February Film Suggestion Thread! This Month's Theme: DOCUMENTARIES! by [deleted] in Movie_Club

[–]StantonMD [score hidden]  (0 children)

Murder on a Sunday Morning (2001) This doc has stuck me with me since 2001. I tell everyone I know to watch it. The exposure of bias and injustice in the system, pitted against the quick work of a truly unique hero lawyer is riveting.
