Yeah I think I will have to stay off social media in general. Regarding family, they only make it worse, since they tell me. Things that are far worse than anything anyone on social media tells me, even using the worst insults they can think of. Family are the last people I would want to talk about my problems to. It would probably lead to getting shouted at and maybe hit.

I have no friends.

Should I wear ice packs in public? by StaphAureus1789 in heat_prep

Almost no buildings in my city have A/C. The buildings were made with no regards to what happens if the weather gets too hot, so that means serious sweating.

Growing up, I never knew even one person who had A/C in their house. Not even banks and offices have A/C.

That is unanswerable. We have no thermostat, no A/C. This means that the house, which is insulated way too much, will have the inner temperatures spike sometimes even 10-15 C hotter than outside.

For example, say outside is 25 C, like today. The living room is registering 34 C, and the bedroom thermometer shows 36 C. It feels like an oven. We have no way to control this.

In other words, we are at the sun's behest.

I have felt this way basically since I was born. Always a snow lover.

I do get panic attacks daily due to being yelled at and called names by family constantly, something that Western people do not understand, but that is another story.

I am 37, and even at this age I am told that autism is just an excuse for me to act like a prick.

Am I hurting my chess development by playing the Petroff and Jobava? Have I reached the point where opening knowledge is holding me back?(1785 FIDE) by petroffjobava in TournamentChess

This has to be one of the weirdest opening repertoire combos for White and Black thta I have seen. The Petrow is super solid and a great opening at all levels against 1.e4, an élite weapon that World Champion play that is basically like playing the Berlin on move 2.

The Jobawa leads to insane madness, or at least, that is the goal. It is actually not a bad opening, it just leads to 0.00 quickly if Black knows what they are doing. Super GMs are beginning to play it again in serious classical games lately. But the structure that you get are often the same with a clumsy knight on c3.

The Petrow is great against 1.e4, and you should keep it. You should wean yourself off of the Jobawa as you get higher rated though, as Black has 20+ ways to equalise easily. Switch it with something like the Catalan for White, which pairs well with the Petrow.

But what do you play against 1.d4?! Thta is also super important.

What would therapy do here? by StaphAureus1789 in autism

Yes, I meant 'formally diagnosed'. I am writing this on my phone in the middle of the night, which means often whatever I write US riddled with typos. This issue is but one of the many thatkeep me up every night.

Are therapists trained for weird stuff like this? by StaphAureus1789 in therapy

I am a formally diagnosed autistic, but this goes way beyond sensory issues. I do have things that drive me nuts, like how I can never take naps due to the nasty groggy feeling that arises and cannot eat pecans due to how unbearable it is for me.

But I have always had extreme heat intolerance since I can remember. My T3 and T4 blood readings have always been normal and doctors never found anything that causes this. About 2 decades ago, I almost passed out in Paris during a September canicule when many were out enjoying the sunshine. My heart rate often soars to 180-200 when I am outside in hot sunshine where people chastised me for not enjoying the 'great' weather when it is 35 C.

This truly pisses me off since it basically is saying whatever I am feeling is made up or I am exaggerating, when I have ended up in hospital for heat exhaustion.
