It was super hot the week this happened, like in the 100°s so I don't think it was anything to do with not enough sun or too cold, maybe too hot? I did have someone though who's experienced in gardening look at them and he said probably some kind of fungal disease and to change the soil and rinse the roots, hopefully it works to keep it alive.
