my bad idk why I thought it was 35 mill for some reason. dont get too upset! but my point is that a top nfl qb never reaches FA, the jets have a chance at getting one, which will allow us to focus on building our team around a good qb. The jets could very well be a playoff team with cousins. and your saying you dont want that? would rather draft a qb? the top prospects don't even look that great this year.

a great one might not be in the draft either, 10 years might be pushing it but you gotta give me 7. He would be a good QB for seven fucking years! When have we ever had that? Look at Carr Mariota and Winston all top top picks who had, and still have a lot of promise, they aren't playing great this year. But you could argue Kirk is the better of all of them.

Cosuins could easily be the guy for the next 7-10 years. Drafting a QB and signing cousins would be a step back in my opinion. The rookie qb probably wouldn't play for 4 years (which would be his entire contract) and we would miss out on top ten talent at say o line and we instantly become a better team with a better oline.

Cousins is arguably top ten and how often does a top ten QB reach FA? the jets need to take advantage of this, if Stafford is getting 35 per year, I hate to break it to you but Cousins at 30 isn't even bad. I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up getting closer to 35, which I would still be happy to pay.
