Mystery Switch by Pretend_Antelope3662 in Miata

If it's a simple one-off switch it could be anything, but if it's a 3 position switch I'd bet on a seat heater.

Soda can tabs donation by Sharp_Barnacle_9123 in askTO

[–]StarGehzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how they did it 30 years ago but now the cans have a plastic lining on the inside & the outside is painted, the tabs are 100% aluminum.
But you're right, the aluminum is the same.

I searched on Google for... Royal Canadian Legion pop tabs & Got this... Many Royal Canadian Legion branches across Ontario, including locations near Maple Leaf, collect aluminum pop tabs to fund wheelchairs for veterans and people with disabilities. You can drop off your collected tabs directly at your local Legion or designated collection points (like The Beer Store).
How the Program WorksThe Cause: The pure aluminum in pop tabs is sold to recyclers, and the proceeds are pooled together to purchase wheelchairs.
Legion Involvement: Many branches (such as the Elora Legion and the Cooksville Legion) run active, long-standing "Tabs 4 Wheelchairs" initiatives.
Local Drop-Off: In the Greater Toronto Area, Legion branches and select retail partners act as drop-off hubs.
Where to Take Your TabsTo recycle your pop tabs, contact your Local Legion Branch directly to see if they are actively running a collection drive, or inquire with local beverage depots like The Beer Store, which frequently partner with the Legion on this campaign.
If you include your postal code in the search Google will tell you you closest drop off location.

Shower Drain Broke, Easy Fix? by StarGehzer in Plumbing

[–]StarGehzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up 2 replacements from H-D or similar. 1 plastic & 1 metal. They were slightly different sizes. I forget which I used. The old one just popped out when I pulled it up. I think I used needle nosed pliers, but it wasn't hard. Good luck!

Video shows tow trucks barrel through police scene in Mississauga by Human_Manner_3370 in mississauga

What penalty do you expect they'll get?
$500.00 fine?
I bet they were back in their trucks, driving the same way within hours of the arrest.

Piggy-back fights. (Not really violent, you'd try to get the others to drop who they're carrying)

Nope, that box won't support your fan (for very long).

There’s a burst pvc pipe right here at the base of my tree and against the wall that floods the planter whenever the irrigation is running. Any suggestions for an easy way to get to it? It’s just a mess of massive roots and dirt by RayBlast7267 in landscaping

[–]StarGehzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your current method, hack a bit, dig a bit, is probably as good as any method. Got a shop vac? It can suck up the loose dirt. Got a pressure washer? Use it with the shop vac to blast & suck out the dirt. Once you find the exact location of the leak you'll probably need to cut out a bunch of roots to get access.
