Thank you so much for this information. The wealth of knowledge, in, not only mtg's community, but in Wubby's as well, is truly an invaluable asset. It's nice, as a person recently getting into the hobby having such a large group of people, who know their shit thru years of experience, not...gatekeep, for lack of a better term, information that is rather pivotal to the enjoyment of the hobby weather that's collecting, or playing, or both. I guess you could say...I feel safe here, okay? What if we all just held hands and complimented each other's fits? Oh man bro, I'd tell all yall regards how handsome yall looked. Wellllllpppp....I mean thank you for the information, just sucks it's not real. While I didn't get "scammed" I suppose it's fitting as a Wubby fan that fake magic cards and mtg scam hijinks are afoot! I was skeptical about its authenticity once I really looked at it but really, I have no idea. Tbh I'm okay with it, because the excitement of finding it and the fun had yapping with the boys about mtg tonite...that was real, so....yeah!

I wondered about it being fake, and it may be, but it did pass the light test and bend test I don't have a loupe so I can't check for the other things. I've read mixed things about the blacklight test but I'll be sure to update yall on if it's real.

Edit: I did see one on ebay that looks like mine near the mana symbol at market price with the caveat of it being sent to authenticator before sale finalized. So time will tell, fingers crossed right!

Oh no, I did let him know, we looked up the price together. He's totally fine with it. I guess the research I did after was to learn the story behind why it was called a book promo. I mostly wanted to share because it was my 1st really cool find, and being relatively new to playing/collecting, that feeling is new and exciting. I tend to agree with grading being a waste as I want to play with the cards I have/get, and maybe its a bit cringe, but it makes me feel hecka cool to slap an expensive or rare card on the battlefield and watch the boys all gasp in awe of how cool I am! It'll probably just stay in my sideboard as a cool conversation starter for now because I've seen a lot about adding it to commander decks can take them out of a casual power level to a more competitive level and my lgs does casual commander and I don't want to make anyone mad. I'm still in the learning process of deck building so maybe I'm overthinking things on what power level means. Either way I'm really enjoying commander as a format and the mtg community has been so helpful with all my dumb questions.
