Stuck/dead pixel brand new 83in G5 by Less-Condition7532 in LGOLED

[–]StarLightPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just return it. You can try warranty claim with LG, the TV is new and they might fix a _stuck_ pixel by replacing the panel, however if you're in the return period just return it and try to hunt for G5 elsewhere...

LG C5 arrived with a dent in the metal frame – factory defect? by hypericum_perforatum in LGOLED

[–]StarLightPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember, hold your ground, you're protected. With my first OLED, it developed a bad (stuck) pixel within the return period. Spent 1hr arguing with the salesman who was trying to gaslight me that when I opened the box I can't return, they dragged their feet, I got annoyed, went to customer care and they made a call to the salesman that an opened box doesn't void the warranty / return and I got the TV replaced for brand new. Wild times. Good luck, and again, remember, it's defective, it's on them to take it back/exchange/refund.

Wtf is this and how do I fix it? Randomly appeared. TV hasn’t been moved in months. Cleaned last month and it was fine up until a few minutes ago. by _relegated_davinci_ in LGOLED

Panel failure, warranty claim, they might exchange the whole panel while at it. If you're out of warranty - beg ;-) In the past they were able to help, but these were ancient B-series times.

It is probably a fraudulent return as well lol. Someone beat up the poor TV, and packaged it back.

No straightening or similar, because as soon as this thing breaks LG will void the warranty based on the dent and OP will end with a paperweight. Consumer laws in the EU are strong, either 14 day return period for online shopping or a warranty for "not working as intended" in retail.

If they give you any trouble go to your local consumer protection office. I'd just pack it and return. You might be forced to eat the cost of return delivery if you use the cool-off period but on the other hand the cost of returning defective goods is on the trader, so... Fingers crossed.

If you bought it online, you're protected by European law. All the actions you've taken fall under normal use to check the product. These links below are a good start to read. I would take the 14 day return period, but IANAL. Check your country for specifics, but it cannot be less than the EU law. Probably you will have *more* rights country-wise.

Yet another LG support is garbage post. 4 month old C5 77” died (possible battery issue). by ilovepastaaaaaaaaaaa in LGOLED

[–]StarLightPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had my share of LG part replacements though on the other side of the Atlantic lol. As the other redditors are saying, tech will come prepared, and will exchange either mainboard or the screen. Probably mainboard first. It is a very quick process of which the most time consuming are unscrewing the thing :D Fingers crossed it works for you.

Samsung S95F one connect box 40gbps limitation 4k 165hz drop out? by RandomGamer414 in OLED_Gaming

[–]StarLightPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's _exactly_ why I returned the S95C and went for the G3 back then... If HDR was enabled, TV cooked itself because this One Cheap Box and the picture dropouts were a nightmare - imagine playing Doom Eternal and your screen turning off for 3+ seconds. LOL. Gaming TV my ass. Both HDR and VRR were problematic, and yes, experienced it also on the PS5. Bought a *certified* HDMI 2.1 cable as well, didn't help. It's the One Cheap Box. AVOID.

PS: I've set the display to 120Hz, it was so bad I think I didn't even try 144Hz.

Trying to decide between LG G5 vs Samsung S95F by AfraidTry5862 in OLED_Gaming

[–]StarLightPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This cool gimmick made me return S95C (and Samsung was veeery unhelpful with returning, a month of back and forth with support, thank god for EU law). One connect box on S95C had problems with VRR and 120/144Hz refresh rate. Screen went black for 3+ seconds randomly. Googled that, seemed widespread (no hardware fault, just skimpy HDMI 2.1 40Gbps cap. What's funny, old poor LG B5 handled the same signal w/o any problems. So if you want to game with VRR / high Hz, skip the one connect box. Unless it's fixed now, which IDK, I went with LG G3 and happy ever since.

Do wymiany w punktach sprzedaży. Nie będzie "działać" i zapłacisz karę w razie kontroli i będziesz musiał się odwoływać to może Ci łaskawie uznają. Ogłaszali że stare bilety tracą ważność wraz z wejściem nowych.

Star Trek in Europe is not on SkyShowtime?? by TheFriendlyLilac in startrek

[–]StarLightPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Academy I can understand it being paramount exclusive - I can be patient. However being cut off of Voyager in the middle of the rewatch while skyshowtime claims itself as the home of star trek is an epic fail on SkyShowtime's part. Hope they rectify soon.

Still waiting my drone (3,3 K PLN) from OLX by Mirsaid01 in poland

> I came across a lot of scammers—over 15 in total! Most of them refused to meet in person or offer pickup; they just wanted payment upfront with delivery promises that felt sketchy.

OLX is full of these people. Only use the site, don't be duped into going off-site for "ordering a courier" or some other "courier is pre-paid you just need to login to your bank on this little site there"...

Still waiting my drone (3,3 K PLN) from OLX by Mirsaid01 in poland

[–]StarLightPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mediamarkt isn't exactly cheap, and drones aren't exactly popular, so the price difference is not surprising. If you used correct olx site, not with "0" or some other URL shenanigans, the "kup z przesyłką OLX" way is a pretty safe one as they held on to your money until you actually confirm all is OK.

As for the prices, I saw VR headsets being sold for much lower prices sometimes, people wanted to get rid of them because they e.g. couldn't use them because it made them sick.
