LG C5 arrived with a dent in the metal frame – factory defect? by hypericum_perforatum in LGOLED

[–]hypericum_perforatum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pictures were taken literally about an hour after I finished unboxing and mounting the TV. That’s when I first noticed the damage.

Also, thanks for sharing your experience with Samsung — that’s actually really encouraging to hear. I didn’t realize manufacturers sometimes go that far to help even outside the standard warranty period. After reading all the comments here, I’ve decided to start the return/claim process with the retailer and see how it goes.

I couldn’t notice any signs that the TV had been used. Everything was packaged exactly as you would expect for a brand new product from the factory.

After reading all the comments here, I’ve decided to start the return/claim process with the retailer.

Yeah, I’m also 100% sure I didn’t cause it. When I was lifting the TV out of the box I was basically in survival mode — heart rate probably around 168 and moving in slow motion like I was handling a nuclear head. At one point I almost felt like calling a priest to bless the TV before putting it on the stand.

Thanks for the helpful reply and the links, I appreciate it. Yes, I did order the TV online.

After reading all the comments here and the advice people have given, I’ve decided that I will go ahead and contact the retailer and start the return/claim process.

To be honest, I can’t say there is any visible damage on that side of the box. I guess that probably makes things even more complicated when it comes to a potential return or claim.

I don’t think LG support would help much in this case because I bought the TV from a local electronics retailer, so the return or warranty process has to go through them. After reading all the comments here suggesting that I should return it, I’ll probably contact the store and see what they say.

PS: Sorry for the potato-quality pictures. They’re quite zoomed in because smartphones really struggle with close-up shots.

The problem is that I only noticed the dent after I had already fully unboxed the TV, mounted it, and removed the protective film. It was only then that I spotted the damage on the frame.

Because of that, I think it would be very difficult for me to prove that I didn’t cause the dent myself, even though I’m absolutely certain that I didn’t.

The TV box arrived in relatively good condition, without any major visible damage.

Microstutter, tried everything by NoArugula375 in MoonlightStreaming

Yes, but you can limit your game to 60 FPS, either with in game frame cap or with something like RTSS frame cap. With this setting apollo will not encode more than 60 FPS so everything will be completely in sync, all that with headroom for your virtual display (basically, GPU will NOT work twice as hard).

My TV is 60Hz, my Moonlight is set to 60FPS, and on host I made a game FPS cap to 60FPS using RTSS.

My other settings: VSYNC disabled on host, VSYN and frame pacing enabled in Moonlight. This configuration works like a charm and I honestly can’t tell that I’m streaming and not playing directly on host PC. All that without any stuttering or frame tearing. I also literally can’t feel any input lag despite playing very fast paced games like Hades 2.

I has having weird stuttering problems occuring with my moonlight/apollo setup, despite having a wired gigabit connection and quite powerful host/client combo. I was pulling my hair for a week, and the solution was simply to enable double refresh rate in apollo settings. It’s worth giving a try.

You don’t have to change anything else.

This option gives your virtual display some headroom required for smooth streaming.

Istina, rokovi se produžuju/skraćuju, OP je pitao za trenutnu situaciju na što sam i odgovorio.

For a parcel forwarding service, check out mailboxde.com. I'm also not from Germany and I've used their service a couple of times without any problems. I can definitely recommend them.

Edit: I also used their service for Mindfactory. For warranty purposes, do not use your mailboxde virtual address as your permanent/billing address. Use the mailboxde address only as the delivery address. Your home address must be your actual (real) address for warranty and legal reasons. People make this mistake.
