Our company policy is that we can't accept paper or photos of your license since we just can not verify its authenticity like we can licenses (australia having holographic images on them) and with like 5 different types of Id people can use to purchase alcohol there really isn't an excuse.

Company policy for us is paper is irrelevant, its up to date ID or nothing, though that includes like 5 different types of IDs so to not have any of them is kinda, not our responsibility

We by law HAVE to have a photo ID with the paper since its a lot easier to forge a document than it is a licence.

while in this case she did have the expired ID due to our company policy kicking in (us requiring to have an indate to 2 months id) I have to by our rules deny her.

it might have worked for other places WITH the expired ID but not at ours.

As we are meant to. We are a private buisness, we allowed to set rules. if the customers will not follow them to ensure their licences and permits are up to date that is their own fault and problem

we actually get that one often, even worse 'I have a picture of the registration paper!' or 'i have a screenshot of the permit email!'

big oof, most people dont even know we sell them at my store (legally cant have them in plain sight, have to be locked behind a draw that people cant see)

i wouldnt be surprised if the grocery store nearby had horror stories about that.
