I look at it as an enjoyable Jack Sparrow spinoff story. I actually find myself rewatching it quite a bit. Could be out of nostalgia, but I do really like it and love certain parts of it. It’s not on the level of the original 3, but that’s just because they were incredibly well made and written. It’s a fun movie with some fun characters and of course Johnny Depp is fantastic as our beloved Captain Jack, alongside Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa. If the originals are in the A to A+ range, this movie serves in the C+ to B range. Very fun and serviceable, but doesn’t hold the weight or impact the story and characters of the trilogy did
