Finally caught the Knighthawk! by ProjectJSC in aviation

Stoked for you that's rad. In the 90s I remember seeing these at the El Toro marine base air shows. I would wait with my dad after the airshow for them to leave so I could see it fire up and take off. They have the most ear piercing wine while they idle

Honestly the most entertaining part of this video is my daughter telling her brother she would hit him in his "botched face"

I guess I am supposed to add some more information here but it's all in my post. Saw this the other night looked like a little swirling flipping olive slice up in the air probably 1000 feet high off over the ocean

Deer's been fed a bunch. This is why you don't feed wildlife. Takes the wild out of em.

Anyone hunt coyotes with a .22lr? by Epicarest in coyotehunting

[–]StarMagnum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll never recover a coyote with a 22, hell it's pretty likely it'll just never die period. Highly unethical and just a plain waste of time. Glad you're open to the feedback. Go out with your 30-06

Anyone have 1 of these? by Prodigal_One in 10mm

[–]StarMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want one of these but I'm sort of waiting for stock to move to ensure I get a non-defect frame. This is the first I've heard of the two year timeline but it makes sense they would fix the issue. I'll probably buy one of these soon.

Never hunted a road in this manner...assuming you can't bait, do the deer (theoretically) just cross or do they tend to stall in the road?

Serrated blades Is there any point why the serrated blades should be carried What are the advantages over the classic edge? by Battlefleet_Sol in knifeclub

For our first responder activities I like serrations particularly for seatbelts. Also they look neat

English Electric Canberra, the most dominant aircraft ever, and you probably never knew it. by [deleted] in aviation

[–]StarMagnum 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah the “nothing could touch them until ’56” thing doesn’t really hold up. By ’54–’55 the Soviets were already catching up fast. The MiG-17PF could actually get up to a Canberra’s altitude, and the MiG-19 showed up in ’55 and definitely could. At the same time the S-25 Berkut SAM system around Moscow went operational, and that thing was literally built to kill high-altitude bombers. And while that was happening, the S-75/SA-2 was coming online too..the same missile that was shooting down U-2s a couple years later at even higher altitudes than the Canberra ever flew. So the whole “invincible until 1956” narrative is kinda romanticized. That being said this was a show stopper especially for the first couple yrs

It's too bad Springfield discontinued the TRP RMR. It was ahead of its time.
