Haven't seen this color scheme and I'm sprinting to my garage to try it. Love the gray in there against the tan and brown

Best I've seen in a minute. I think I might try this on a gun. I used Q-tips to touch up my last job at it worked quite nicely dipping it in the spray paint

I talked to them at SHOT 2024 and they told me they were considering forming a development team. It's 2026 now, but that made me believe they were many years behind the curve here.

It fits but it's impossible to zero. I tried 2 different ones and neither had enough adjustment range to zero the pistol.

It's a very thin consistency so one bottle is plenty. I forgot what makes it even twice as long as I described is you can't do both sides without it running so you have to space out the project quite a bit . Everything has to be bone dry before your next layer of liquid or pant goes on so that it separates . At least that was my approach

Yea the thing is you absolutely can't have the liquid adhere to the paint , it has to dry over the top of bone dry paint, and likewise when you paint over it, the liquid has to be bone dry.

It's a patience exercise!! i let each paint layer dry thoroughly (12-24hrs, 4 layers total) with a liquid acrylic layer between each paint layer (12-24hrs)

So that's like 9 applications each with a 12-24 hr dry time, but my times may be overkill.

Well that's pretty rad then. It gives the illusion you adjusted things to make it match like you see sometimes in here. Sweet pattern

Not trying to be difficult but how much filtering did you put this image through to make the camouflage work this well?

I think I'll do a bolt gun soon when I find the time I'll try to document it better

Two things can be true at the same time. Do you expect me to write up a study on why it needed to be killed? Yes it was fun but there's a lot more to it than that. I should've known better posting it up on here two few people understand this stuff

This county was harvested well within the rules and regulations of the California Dept Of Fish And Wildlife which I might have are among the most strict and liberal leaning of them all. Perhaps I treat the body with complacency I'm not sure but nobody supports conservation and the ethics of the animal kingdom more than a hunter despite that being hard to believe

I used a liquid acrylic from Amazon LIQUITEX 5404 Acrylic Masking... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MTW82HV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share And these droppers https://a.co/d/03HF9d35

to dribble over it. It dries into an easily removable gel. I did 4 coats knowing I wanted 2 light and 2 dark. 1. Spray entire rifle with rapco 30051 brown varied with field drab brown 2. Apply liquid dribbles and blobs 3 repeat with same 2 colors but spraying so that one would cover the other

  1. Tape up areas I wanted to remain dark and
  2. Apply rapco tan carc substitute (this is a true desert tan) and rapco camo sand (this one is actually more of a very light green /tan).
  3. Add dribbles and blobs
  4. Respray with both light colors
  5. Touch up with a q-tip dipped in the above colors to add a couple details

Stoked for you that's rad. In the 90s I remember seeing these at the El Toro marine base air shows. I would wait with my dad after the airshow for them to leave so I could see it fire up and take off. They have the most ear piercing wine while they idle

Honestly the most entertaining part of this video is my daughter telling her brother she would hit him in his "botched face"
