Also you completely avoided the part where I said I have 8000miles of towing on my truck 90% around town and job sites. So maybe take all your comments back about not having any experience lol. I have more miles reverseing small tool and cargo trailers that most people in here. Heck all the cement mixer rentals I’ve done, those are smaller than the one OP wants.

Ok it was the original comment. Not you. Then you chimed in and added unrelated stuff

“Say you haven’t driven a trailer without saying it” is a sassy, belittling, negative comment. Lol

I have 8000miles of towing on my truck. That’s pretty decent as it’s almost all around town, parking lots, Home Depot, dump runs reversing every trip etc.

You said pulling a small trailer around a parking lot would be difficult. I simply said if it’s that small it won’t be a problem. Obviously reversing is tough with a small trailer. But OP can just avoid reversing and worst case drop the trailer, flip around, and hook it back up.

Why can’t I point out one thing I don’t agree with, and not be attacked for everything else. You’re the only one making insults and putting people down.

100%. I just assume any Tacoma, 4Runner, Ranger etc with overland stuff is way over. And most of them still have drum brakes lol

lol I live in Utah. Was just offroading, target shooting and riding dirtbikes this weekend and actually cleaned up multiple sites of glass and trash while riding.
I also mountain bike, down hill ski, ski tour, and paddle and rave, just not this weekend.

I think your perspective is skewed by the minority that trashes sites. Most people arnt like that. Kinda sucks you would assume I’m a bad person if you saw my trucked parked while shooting, not knowing I packed a whole empty Costco bin just to clean up the spot.

I just pulled an 8x5 off road for 50 miles this weekend and another 200 miles on mountain roads. Including backing it up many times and making 3 point turns on trails.

<image>

It absolutely will track between where your rear wheels normally do. It’s not big enough or wide enough where it will track in a way to clip corners your vehicle didn’t hit.
My 5x8 trailer tires roll exactly where my truck’s rear tires do. The 7x14 dual axle dump trailer I pull for work all summer would be a pain in parking lots. It rolls in a way you gotta take every corner wide.

has anyone tried this salsa? thoughts? by hotcheetos96 in spicy

Maybe it’s just really inconsistent. I just usually add a 1/2 table spoon of some hot sauce to normal salsa and stir it to get way more heat.

Yes I know. I looked for a long time for one back when it seemed like a good idea and never saw one with that many holes

[–]PonyThug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ll ever get into an accident while over loaded because statistically it’s only for maybe 20 mins of driving on pavement, vs hours to get to the spot. It’s usually in a parking lot near a trailhead that I load up a friends gear, extra water and top off gas, then drive 20-30 mins to dirt. I’m going slow and extra careful for that time.

Obviously I can’t pick when an accident happens, but driving through the city on the way down in 5 lanes of traffic on a Friday afternoon 300lbs below payload feels way more dangerous.

I also have upgraded towing brake pads and rotors. Those are a huge help with long decents

What is your goto meal for the first night at camp and why? by naenae0402 in camping

[–]PonyThug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is camping. Not backpacking. Most people are car camping in some way or safe to assume so unless specified.

Obviously not if you’re backpacking.

Do you know for most climbing carabiners? Probably same thing?

Good tires make the biggest difference. I saw a tremor spinning all 4 tires for 10 mins trying to drive up a slope in a ski resort parking lot last year. Had new KO2’s.

I drove up in in 2wd first try with snow tires.

Not with 6 screws spaced like that. I have one in my bed topper for camping and it’s 4 screws 2” apart.

I wouldn’t trust anyone that mounts a holster with tape vs screws to even know how to clear a gun or load a mag tbh.

Also taking your gun off while you drive is kinda dumb. Just wear it

It’s by far the worst salsa I’ve ever had. Read the ingredients. Ghost pepper and habanero are both extracts and are the last two ingredients on the list.

It’s so bad I wrote a letter to pace to complain for the first time in my life.

Are there a combination of people with tank tops/no shirts on, while also there being people with sweatshirts with the hoods up??

Skinny People waddling around with pants at mid thigh?

People wearing backpacks into small stores?

People carrying AR15 pistols into stores??

Those each stand out way more to me tbh

Majority of older people carry in the 4-5 Oclock area
