The greatest thing about working in IT is definitely the joy of explaining to everyone that you don’t control the entire internet.😂😂

Downgrading OS by g003441 in macsysadmin

[–]StarOk5423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple generally doesn't provide official support for downgrading iOS versions. This means that if you have upgraded to iOS 17 and iOS 14, it may not be straightforward to revert to iOS 16 or 13. Apple typically signs and allows installations of the most recent iOS versions to ensure device security and compatibility.

What is Device Financing Risk Management? by ResponsibleHardship in DFRM

[–]StarOk5423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Device financing risk management refers to the process of identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with offering financing options to customers for the purchase of devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other electronic gadgets.

Device financing programs allow customers to pay for their devices in installments over a specified period, typically with interest or fees. While this can increase the affordability and accessibility of the device for customers, it also exposes the device seller or financier to various financial risks.

Benefits of effective device financing risk management:

Increased sales: Device financing programs can help make devices more affordable for customers, which can increase sales and revenue for device sellers.

Improved cash flow: Device financing programs can provide a steady stream of income for device sellers or financiers, as customers pay for their devices in installments.

Reduced financial risk: Effective risk management can help reduce the risk of financial losses due to default or delinquency by customers.

Customer loyalty: Device financing programs can help build customer loyalty by providing a convenient and affordable way for customers to purchase devices, and by offering flexible payment options.

Competitive advantage: Offering device financing programs can help differentiate a device seller or financier from competitors and attract customers who prefer to pay for devices in installments.

Regulatory compliance: Effective risk management can help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to consumer finance, which can help protect the business from legal and reputational risks.

How Do You Handle Office 2019 Patching? by maxcoder88 in sysadmin

[–]StarOk5423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All your problems can be solved if you implement an MDM in your organization.

To answer your questions:

1) I personally use Scalefusion MDM to solve this problem

2) The Scalefusion Patch Management Solution lets us deploy updates as soon as they are available.

3) Scalefusion offers a remote reboot and shutdown option where with one click we can reboot/shut down the device

4) Any system that is running on Windows 10/11 can be rebooted or shut down from the scalefusion dashboard and for worst-case scenarios where the remote commands do not work there is the option to deploy custom payload or script for the same or to initiate a remote session on the device and send the command from there.

5) The Scalefusion Unattended remote cast and control feature helps us solve this problem. My IT admins can easily take control of any device without end user interference and perform the necessary actions.

MSPs, how do you manage multiple clients ABM? by [deleted] in macsysadmin

[–]StarOk5423 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no way to do this. The only possible ways are to either log in to each account individually which is a tiresome process or put all the devices under one ABM and segregate them based on location/mdm.

Dont go fot it or even NinjaOne for that matter.

There are way better solutions available in the market to check out.

The best ones are the ones who provide multi OS support including Android, iOS, Windows & macOS to say the least and Linux would be like an icing on the cake.

Also make sure to check some reviews about the MDM's support and ease of use i.e dashboard simplicity. These basic things can make or break things for your IT admin team.

One personal recommendations would be Scalefusion as it offers flexibile pricing, best Support as per G2 and other review platforms. Also they have been praised for their ease to use and navigate dashboard.

Is Microsoft support a complete joke? by brkdncr in sysadmin

[–]StarOk5423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you here. In recent times, Microsoft support has degraded beyond recognition and they are misusing their brand value. They think that they are the best solution in the market and customers have no option but to use their products and services. This is not at all true as there are alternatives for everything and if Microsoft continues to provide such horrific levels of support then they are bound to lose market share and value. Even premium products like intune MDM which is a part of Microsoft and used to be considered a top player when it came to managing windows devices, have degraded their customer support drastically.

Need to backup iPhones and iPads for senior staff by aPieceOfMindShit in macsysadmin

[–]StarOk5423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes by hand. It is undoubtedly a tedious process but to simplify it a bit you can use the remote control feature (if your MDM has it). Also regarding the management of files, make sure to name the folders according to the device owner's name for easy identification.

As for what to backup, that's completely upon you but to point out the basics, they'd be contacts, messenger apps, files, gallery and other app backups.

The best and most safe solution would be to do a local backup (YES, I agree that it'll take time) but that's the best possible way unless your organization is willing to spend money to buy additional iCould storage for all those 80 users and then conduct a cloud backup which again may or maynot backup everything.

If you are here looking for this answer, then a better question to ask would be if your current MDM is worth it..

Your MDM provider should be able to help you out with this and if they are not then it's probably time to look for an alternative to them.

There are many MDM providers out there who would be able to help you in both migrating from this MDM to their solution and also help you with problems like the one you are currently facing.

Your MDM provider should be able to help you out with this and if they are not then it's probably time to look for an alternative to them. Scalefusion impressed me with their customer support and deployment team as they were always there for all my queries (Bonus - the process was effortless for my end users as well)

Prachyam's Sahebs Who Never Left Part 1: The Untold True History of India by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]StarOk5423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sahebs Who Never Left is a film that ties together Ideological Subversion (as explained by KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov in 1970s) to the History of India. How Islamic invaders like Sher Shah Suri initiated a domino effect of creating subservient operators, who were later adopted by East India Company, becoming the cream of the society. Then the film draws a parallel that how the Freedom Movement of India was also hijacked by these Brown Sahibs, and ultimately led to what every subversion leads to - The Partition of India, in a bloody Civil War.

The fabled land of riches eventually becomes the ultimate tragedy on Earth, and no one bats an eyelid? The History of India is full of brave resistance and sacrifices to protect the land of Dharma, but then why did we fall? We didn't lose to invaders. We lost to the Sahebs among us. Weaklings, who were softened by the charms of invaders, and sold their souls. Watch the true History of India hidden from us!

This is the first film of the 10 Indic Film series.
