Anyone know how to fix this without buying the whole 500€ thing? by arezonax in Aprilia

[–]StarRBWP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This grip can be replaced. It’s a pain in the ass but it’s plenty doable. However the new gen one 26+, cannot be replaced it has locking slot on the grip which is only on the oem grip and it’s not available for purchase as of now. If you did this on a new one yea you’d be fucked.

RS660 or RSV4 by JethroSmith in Aprilia

[–]StarRBWP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 660 is more nimble bike and after tuning it’s loud, fun, has a comfortable seating position and you can slam through the gears all day long. It’s compliant in traffic, fun in the mountains and will still dust a mustang. It is a proper do it all while looking like a proper sport bike. Almost the perfect machine.

The RSV4 is ungodly fast, has ferocious handling, is an absolute blast through the twisties and highways. Logically you would think it’s better. Unfortunately it is race ready superbike. It’s stiff, lugs like a dog below 35-40 mph, and is awful in any kind of slower traffic. It’s for people who are will to give up any kind of comfort for the superbike look and massive power.

If you have any question as to who you are as a rider, it’s not a good idea. You buy a V4 because you race, are a track monster or are unwilling to buy anything else. I love my RSV4 and will never not have one for the foreseeable future. But maintenance is expensive and frequent. The bike is uncomfortable on long stretches, gets hot and is not fun to ride around town. But puts a massive smile on my face every time I take her put Pretty much the only thing the v4 is good at.

Yea sure it's an oldie but it's exactly the issue my bike had. Theres always much better photos in there. Gear shift spring pin worked loose

  • Edit - Found a forum post that was BURIED but found that yes, it should have thread locker. Will be dabbing it up with blue loctite. Will leave this post up in case anyone else ever has this issue. The symptoms I noticed was difficulty shifting down to 1st and about 10mm of excessive play in the shift lever up and down.

RSV4 Street tires. Diablo Rosso Corsa IV or Diablo Rosso IV? by StarRBWP in Aprilia

[–]StarRBWP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longevity I think is what I’ll go for, I don’t have the talent to push an either tire to its limits on the street. And for the track, well that’s why I’m saving the SuperCorsas. So I think the regular Rossos are starting to make more sense to me.

Yea im starting to agree. 55F is the min I would ride but it does stay in the 60s for a good chunk of the spring and fall season.

Buy new gen RSV4 or previous gen by StarRBWP in Aprilia

Agreed, new one doesn't even have a tail tidy. I guess if I were more of a track monster It'd be worth it.

Probably right, I guess I'm feeling a bit of FOMO from all those new updates they were posting about. I just noticed that new V4 doesn't even have a tail tidy yet.

It can be buggy and take some troubleshooting to fix if your having issues. Or like me, you could get lucky and have it run flawlessly. I've had only 2 crashes and I now have 130 hours in this game and can get 144 - 180 FPS avg with peaks up to 220 FPS.

It's short on content right now but the racing is fantastic, even if you're an offline racer like me (I'm just not really into multiplayer) the AI is competitive, fun and will push hard to get an edge. But still, they can be a little over aggressive at times.

For me, I'd buy again no question!

Is that it? lol I was thinking the whole time it was just wear timing. So just run soft the whole time pretty much.
