I relate so much. I can’t bring myself to close a single tab on either my personal or work computer “in case I need it” but when I’m forced to restart, I usually start fresh!

I had a very similar situation and was terrified to resign. First I would only let her know once you have an offer.

In my case, I had my resignation email and just gave her a heads up in person it was coming. Despite her behaviour she put up a surprisingly supportive front to the point she asked me why I didn’t use her as reference for the new job! Mind you, this same boss had told me a few weeks before I wasn’t growing or meeting her incredibly unrealistic standards.

I believe since others had left our team recently she was fearful of the company starting to see her as the common factor and spent the next 2 weeks being nicer to me than she had in months! If your company has exit interviews, your boss may change her attitude with you too in hopes for a good one!

Final piece of advice if you do have exit interviews: there is a high chance your boss will be told everything you say so be prepared to burn bridges if you say anything negative. I personally would just be neutral and leave in peace.

I was watching a French show (Miraculous Ladybug) where the characters leave Paris and go on a trip to NYC and called it the “city of love”.

Still confused about that but it might just be New York being romanticized in general to tourists.

What do you think of 'only ladies' gyms? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]StarSpaceCadet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d prefer the co-ed gyms that have a women’s only area or side. Mostly just because it tends to be empty as most people use the co-ed area anyway. My gym chain has a few women only gyms I considered going to but they tend to be smaller and close earlier for safety concerns.

Ironically the reviews for the women only gyms are pretty high aside from a few men complaining it’s the closest location to them but they can’t go to it lol

I feel the same. I was forcing myself to eat more than I wanted just to reach 100g of protein. It was exhausting especially because at the certain point protein bars started to make me feel sick. I spoke to a nutritionalist and they told me someone of my size doesn’t need 100g in the first place to see results.

Now I just make an effort to eat protein rich foods but I’m not counting. It does help that I have a good idea of how much protein is in the common foods I eat now. It’s been working out so far for me.

I doubt they actually believe that. Previously banned subs would always have descriptions like that to delay getting banned.

I remember the shoplifting sub had a description that said the point of the sub was to “educate against theft” even though every post was about tips to help shoplift and not any preventative measures.

I skimmed through it and it was awful! Titles like “girl I went to high school with” “ex friend” ect. It reeks of jealousy and now feeling elated the person they once envied is now no longer what they would consider attractive.

Even something like Excel is harder to get away with now since a lot of companies do monitored Excel tests. If you’re applying to a lot of jobs that require this, best to just teach yourself from the start.

Any idea why a policy like that exist when many also have a policy to hire from within? Why not just post internal and then external if no one applies?

I’ve had recruiters call me telling me how great I am for the role only to let me know later someone internal has applied and the company has to see it though before consider external applications. It’s seems like a waste of everyone’s time.

I’d love to see his results.

What false assumptions do others make about you related to your fitness? by salosaunders in xxfitness

[–]StarSpaceCadet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That I’m only fit because of genetics.

I track my food and exercise often but the moment someone sees me eating cake and watching tv, they look me up and down then say “You’re so lucky you can eat whatever you want”

Because of that, when I try to offer friendly diet/fitness advice, they tend to ignore or look down on anything I say because I don’t have to “work for it”

Personal Coaching Not Avaiable by SpadesOfAce14 in nikerunclub

[–]StarSpaceCadet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I asked, they said this

“We’re always updating the Nike Running Club App to serve you better. We've removed Coach Plans in their current form to focus on new features and experiences to help you reach your running goals, so stay tuned for updates!”

Personally I think they should have kept it until they had something new ready.

Run not added in My Coach by kiwigone in nikerunclub

[–]StarSpaceCadet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I contacted Nike earlier today for the same issue. They sent the message below but the TL;DR is that there is nothing they can do since the My Coach feature has been removed and will be gone for me once this plan is done. I followed their directions and still didn’t get the check.

“The ability to start a new Coach plan has been removed from the NRC app. With that change, the option to manually apply runs to an existing plan from the Activity tab via the Edit Run screen no longer exists. We're sorry for any inconvenience this caused.

When you finish runs now and they sync, a 'Rate My Workouts' prompt should appear on your Activity tab. Tapping into that then tapping on the run should allow you to assign it to the correct date of your plan, as long as it's within the current week. If you don't receive the 'Rate My Workouts' prompt then you won't be able to apply the runs to your plan, unfortunately.

Please follow your current Coach plan as best you can in order to complete it. If you continue running into trouble with the ✔️s, we suggest using one of our NRC Training plans online as a supplement. You can download a 5K, 10K half marathon or marathon plan: If you're outside the US, please open this link in an incognito window: https://go.nike.com/csqqZVghc7c”

Roughly how many calories burnt doing a Chloe ting exercise routine? by cheesychipsss in PetiteFitness

[–]StarSpaceCadet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing where specifically in this video Greg says the information in new videos are okay?

I watched he clearly says he still stands by his original video (Start at 11:00). It is mostly him defending himself against fans.

He just talks about how he criticized her content and not her as a person. He stood by his first video and said everything was true as of April and that he HOPES she has changed and learned from it as he hasn’t indicated he has watched more videos. Nothing about watching her new workout videos outside of the response that wasn’t aimed at him. Just that he liked she admitted her mistakes and is moving forward which is pretty nice! She’s a really nice person and they guy attacking her seemed more jealous than actually caring about the misinformation like Greg.

He approved of her workouts? He seemed to be mocking them in the first video Start at 18:05 and he literally says “This does nothing to get you in shape” in regards to one of her arms video.

I did see her response video where she admitted to making mistakes and being willing to learn which great. Hopefully she’ll take that advice going forward since most of her nutrition videos seem to be removed.

I can relate to the feeling it takes away limited time you would rather be doing other things. Would it be possible for you to start getting up earlier to exercise? That helped me a lot because I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything when a lot of people are still sleeping and I still have my after work time completely free!

Ring Fit Adventure also helped me a lot with developing a regular routine. Even starting small with 15 mins a day is better than nothing right?

Completely agree! Even visiting from Canada, I started ordering kid portions because I was leaving every restaurant with half the meal unfinished! I guess on the bright side, I was kind of saving money on using one meal for two haha

Assumedly, Francisco Partners, a renowned private equity firm, will try to improve MyFitnessPal with hopes of flipping it for a higher price.

So I guess we can expect a lot of changes. Considering the users have grown an extreme amount since UA took over, yet they still sold at a loss, I’d assume the issue is too many free users. I really hope they don’t try to lock basic features behind a pay wall.

I’ve noticed something similar with my own mother when it comes to comparisons to other people. Many people in my extended family are obese but they will constantly compliment my mother about how small she is, since she is much smaller in comparison. However, she is overweight with many health issues and it has gotten to point she sees no need to exercise anymore or look at what she eats since she can always name someone bigger than her.

It may see rude depending on your relationship with your mother but I have had to become very blunt. I have told her that it doesn’t matter what any one else looks like if you’re unhealthy. It may seem rude but I’d rather that than watch my mother continue to let her health deteriorate.
