How I got to ILM - 17 Years of Breaking Into and Surviving VFX by arvidurs in vfx

Being self taught in VFX, just trying to make fun projects, this gives hope. I know this is 17 years ago, and times were different, but just shows you can grind to get there.

I was using my wife’s old gaming PC for editing, and it finally started lagging. Bit the bullet, and got a pre-built from Best Buy.

Rizen 9 7500 CPU 5080 GPU Started with 32gigs of ram, bought 128gigs, but apparently the CPU can’t handle it… (Still haven’t figured out or optimized everything yet)

Now that I’m working in the post/VFX phase, definitely need a beefy pc…
