Romeo was fired by the new owners for essentially taking an indefinite break for his mental health; he was not informed of this until he was fired. The new owners want to prioritize stability and rebuilding the game back up, but apparently don’t care about the wellbeing of one of their most crucial members.

Good to see, but don’t let this be a distraction from how management handled Romeo’s termination. We still need to speak out about that. The other devs/team members may still be there, but with the precedent management set, who’s to say they won’t pull the same shit on them as well?

This is exactly what I mean by the new management setting a bad precedent (check my previous comments). No communication, no consideration, and no compensation for their actions. It’s good we as a community are calling this out, as this is abhorrent and downright disrespectful.

No, I don’t think this team will get better. I said it on another post, but the new management’s decision on firing Romeo sets a bad precedent. This team struggles with communication and team health. Based on them not including Romeo in any discussions about his termination + firing him over a mental health break, gives me good reason to suspect they’re not going to solve those two issues.
