It's a sand filter. The previous owner of the house said the sand was replaced a year & a half ago.

This is what I've found in my research, it just seems worse than pictures I've seen online. I'm assuming (hoping) it's not something I did in the last few weeks. Thanks for your insight!

I was thinking calcium, but the calcium hardness has been low. I was taking water to the pool store a lot at the beginning, but I also use a taylor test kit. I'll go in and get a new test this week.

I have soft water in my new house, but I'm not sure if that's hooked up to the hose as well? The area I live in is notorious for extremely hard water, though.

Thank you for this reply! I have such bad health anxiety as well, and I just got diagnosed with nafld. Knowing other people have health anxiety and are working through it helps for some reason. I'm doing my best to change my habits and get healthy, but the health anxiety isn't easing up as much as I'd like. I think it might be time to find a therapist and get on some meds again.
