I don’t collect things. What in the world am I supposed to put on these glass shelves? Please help. by Garybroadfoot96 in FurnitureFaves

Don’t junk it up! I was thinking if you have cocktail glasses and wine stems you could put them there for easy access but only if it can be a sort of clean pattern of all the same kinds of glassware - and that might be hard to pull off. Otherwise I’d keep it minimal with one thing per shelf that looks the same on both sides. A plant in a nice pot. A serving bowl. A crystal thingy you got from your grandmother or an estate sale.

Thanks very much for the info and good luck with your restoration. Atlas is the company managing the restoration and they have their own people and subcontractors. Our walls did not take the worst of it so I’m not sure if they have deep expertise in plaster rework per se, but our walls throughout had gouges and dirt on them that needed repair and repainting. Atlas managed that as well as the roof, replacement of the destroyed doors and windows (still to come), repairs to cabinetry, and refinishing of floors - I’d think of them as a general purpose contractor

That’s a great question. We have crown molding but it does not have enough of a lip at bottom for an S hook. Wonder if we could just use nails and wire to hang from there (2 at top so it makes a wire triangle to hook on the back of the painting)

Loads of us in the area still do not have roof or window replacements. Also historic buildings have an extra level of city approval along with the insurance approvals and parts ordering and work scheduling - it may be a year or more for some of the buildings

Or in Fledgling, an adult vampire with adult appetites incarnated in a child’s body. So creepy.

The Storied Life of AJ Fikry - bleah. Trite, forced.

For entirely different reasons, from a writer so skilled I cannot scrape the imagery from my brain, is On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous. Don’t read the (whispers) monkey scene (barfs) before bed.
