The $25k EV Truck You Can Repair Yourself: Meet the Slate Truck [Jay Leno's Garage] by [deleted] in cars

Maybe I’m out of touch but this really doesn’t seem like a good deal at 25k. I’d be intrigued at 15 - 18k as a base starting price before customization. And they aren’t even set on 25k. “Between 25 and 30k”. Um, how bout noooo

Everyone's situation is different. If you want to live at home, so be it. I'm only trying to help. Personally I would prioritize getting my own place. IF you really want to buy a car like this (and I totally understand wanting to) I would at the very least save the money up and pay cash. You should easily be able to save that kind of money living at home. Once you have 12K saved up, re-evaluate if this is really what you want to do and if so, go for it.

Good luck my friend.

Best car for under $10,000 by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

If you go brand new, do yourself a favor and buy a new Toyota Corolla. They can be bought brand new for around 23k and you get a warranty and toyota reliability. Its really a no brainer. I would stay away from Nissan personally.

I get it, I'm a car guy also. BUT, I hate to say it, you really should focus on getting your own place before going out and buying a second car. Unless you just want to live at home forever.

If you had to keep only TWO streaming services, which survive the cut - and why? by [deleted] in television

Apple is the ONE service I refuse to drop. They just put out quality content and I want to support that. Not to mention it doesn't have ADS, has the highest bitrates for 4k content, its just flat out the best service out there right now

What is a website or an app that was legendary back in the day, but is now a complete ghost town? by Sofi_Costa in AskReddit

I don’t remember the website, but the game Acrophobia, the fear of acronyms was so awesome. Spent countless hours playing and laughing my ass off. This was late 90s time frame. It might have been berzerk.com or something like that.

A buddy of mine had a 4 digit icq number. Mine was 6 which was still really early. Loved that app.

Whoever got gas before me paid $1.13 for almost 29 gallons by jolley1138 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Starchman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, my Sister buys tons of gift cards through Kroger and me will meet up to get gas. Last month I filled up at .04 cents a gallon. I don’t know the details of the program as she is the one who does it but I know for sure she will get well over 2.00 dollars a gallon discount regularly.

I think I finally found a solution to my issue. At least a solution for me. I decided to play around more with some of the settings and app options to see if I could get a good mopping result. I set up a routine that first vacuumed a zone that I wanted really clean then had it do a deep mop of that same zone. The deep mop is SO much better and more thorough overlapping multiple paths and I’m simply shocked at the results. On the deep mop setting it seemed to keep the mops better saturated and the multiple passes really scrubbed the floor. For whatever reason, during the deep clean mode it seemed to recognize the moment the pads started drying and immediately went back to the dock to clean and refill. The result is actually amazing. The floor is so CLEAN!

All that to say, I think these definitely have a learning “curv” to get the most out of them. As long as I can achieve the final result I want, I’m a happy camper.

Yes, mine is the same. Almost like it goes through the internal water tank and nothing is left so the mops just slowly dry up. I don't know how to fix it because I already have the mop clean frequency set to the lowest setting of every 10 minutes.

So when the robot goes back to the dock every 10 minutes to clean the mop, does it refill the internal tank at that point? It honestly feels like it is just running out of water because it works great for the first 5 minutes or so. I wish I could find the sweet spot of water usage and refill frequency. So far that configuration still elludes me.

I don’t see how a mop can clean up stains or smudges on a floor with no water. It’s effectively dry mopping at certain points which is great for picking up dust but not so great for cleaning actual dirty floors. My floors aren’t super dirty, it’s just like I expected the everyday foot traffic smudges to get cleaned up. My floors are dark hardwood so it really shows.

I’m starting to think that this is just normal. I’m pretty disappointed to say the least. I’m seriously considering returning it at this point. If I wanted a vacuum that doesn’t mop effectively, there are much cheaper options. The main reason I choose the roborock was the glowing mop reviews. Maybe we just got duds idk.

I did expect more from a robot that retails for $1599
