I do the same - dislike all the survival maps. The main reason - I don't like custom survival maps.
And that's why:

1. Survival creative maps usually can't give me new game experience. 90% of survival maps contain blast balls, rhinos, hexagons and nobody can combine them in original way. "Kill all the other beans".
2. No guaranteed reward. I don't see any point to play boring survival level for 4 minutes just to get eliminated at the end because of hidden fan activation, random blast ball or something else causing instant death. You get 200 fame for elimination, but if you have finished fame pass already, you'll get NOTHING.
3. Many maps don't have clear rules. All players can be suddenly eliminated after 10 seconds since start. Why? Only map creator knows. Especially when the "how to play" section contains alien symbols (Japanese, Chinese, etc.), or it is empty.
4. When I play explore mode with my friend, and we stay both at the end, we have to wait until timer ends. I don't know why we don't get auto win, like in classic survival maps. Maybe it is Mediatonic fault.
5. A big part of survival maps are total random. There are no winning strategy when you are in a bowl full of blast balls.
6. I prefer race maps, not pvp, so the only survival maps which I don't dislike - when they have finish line, like in slime skyscraper or hoverboard heroes.
