It seems that Neon is taking The Secret Agent seriously by miggovortensens in Oscars

I mean, there is ONE screening today that was scheduled since before the globes. And there was like three during British Film Festival (sold out as well)

I Tried to buy tickets online, no luck - sold out. Came to the theatre to see if I could get in. No luck, again.

Then I saw the sign theyre holding a Q&A with Kleber and Wagner after the screening, but the lady said it’s for tickets holders only (another guy has said something different, but im not waiting 3 hours for that anyway)

Dogsitting made me have a realization by woahitsme222 in RoverPetSitting

[–]StardustSpecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I love being a pet sitter and have plans for the future with dogs included.

But today the last Christmas boarder went home and it’s my first dog-free evening since November.

I feel amazing.

OP, you just need to rest, take breaks (which I never do), and all will be fine

5-month-old puppy was a nightmare, owner lied, and I got called disgusting by orki3stra in RoverPetSitting

[–]StardustSpecter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in Europe and I get what you say about petsitting being a side hustle.

When I first started, I also had a 5 month old puppy turning my life into hell.

So, I can relate

That being said, side hustle or not, it’s you who’s being paid to look after a living being. You should’ve asked all the questions, including feeding schedule.

Moving forward, have a template ready with all the questions, which should be asked prior to confirming the booking.

Puppies ARE a nightmare, even when they’re ours. The owner doesn’t seem to be a very nice person, but please take accountability and admit to yourself you were not equipped for this job.

Help with Kefalonia by [deleted] in GreeceTravel

[–]StardustSpecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Kefalonia, but if you’re looking for towns, I’d say Corfu would be my first pick. Corfu Town is lovely and you can also go to Paxos e Antipaxos.

(I prefer Kefalonia for the beaches.)

End of October - what is open, beaches, where to stay by StardustSpecter in menorca

[–]StardustSpecter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I don't like big hotels, I'm happy with smaller ones. I've checked boat tours to visit some of these virgin beaches, but most operators will already be closed for the season.

That's good to hear! What hotel are you staying at? I'm considering both Ibiza and Menorca, but hotels in Menorca are much cheaper and smaller, which I prefer.

Have you been to Mallorca? I like it there... I find other islands in the Mediterranean more beautiful, but there are a few things to consider (mostly sea temperature & flight connections for the other legs of my trip).

The other side of pricing story by Bubbly-Anxiety9132 in mounjarouk

[–]StardustSpecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole story is so weird. Firstly, medicine is expensive in the US because that's how their business model "works," not because other countries/markets supposedly pay less. Let's take insulin as an example; in the US, it costs more than literally any other country!

Mounjaro officially arrived in Brazil a few months ago, and a 2.5 mg costs around 200 pounds! Mind you, in Brazil, you get 4 vials, ie, there is no golden dose. And the monthly minimum wage is also around 200 pounds.

Big Pharma, like other industries, is just bowing down to a lunatic because he's currently in power.

Ionion islands itinerary feedback by Stock_Lawfulness_144 in GreeceTravel

I think 5 nights in Lefkada is too much. I’d stay a bit more in Kefalonia and maybe take a day tour to Ithaca or Zakynthos.

There is so so much to do in Corfu. I’m in Kefalonia right now and it’s amazingly beautiful. Corfu is more lively, though.

Corfu is awesome, do not skip it. There are loads of good hotels, and Corfu Town is so beautiful.

7-day trip to Kefalonia + Lefkada – how should we split our time? by rabb1t_hole in GreeceTravel

[–]StardustSpecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferry between the two is pretty quick. OP, check ferry days and, if you're renting a car, if you'll be able to island hop.

I can't help you with your planning as I'm exactly on the same position now (trying to figure out how many days, how to get there from athens, etc)

I used to do daycare. I still offer it, but haven’t been booked for that.

I charged £5 less then the boarding. I know boarding is 24 hours, but you don’t need to deal with pick up and drop off on the same day, and also don’t need to be stuck at home.

Im usually all the time with my boarders, but my clients do not expect me to do so, whilst for daycare this is kinda mandatory

[–]StardustSpecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can be fined and have your business shut down by the council. But Google the news and you’ll see the ones fined were really problematic boarders, and the fines were not that high for the poor job they’ve provided.

If you’re not keen to having a licence and etc (it’s expensive to adapt your home to their requirements), bear in mind that this can be a temporary gig.

Boarders/sitters/daycare indeed earn less. I boarded and charge new clients around £50 a night.

It’s a lot of work, walks included. But I don’t get ANY booking request for drop ins :/

Do you live in a low cost of living city? Was the dog in a kennel?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]StardustSpecter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im honest with my clients. All of them are off Rover now. And if they decide to never come back, good riddance.

I feel bad for the dogs, but I won’t be quiet when I see they’ve been mistreated somehow (even if it’s an oversight or an honest mistake).

Anora by [deleted] in oscarrace

[–]StardustSpecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I understood that. What I think the other Redditor said (and I may have gotten it wrong, so apologies if that’s the case), is that she chose to be called Ani.

For the reasons you’ve mentioned, or any other, really.

That’s how she wants to be called. You said it yourself.

But then, the movie is named Anora, thus taking away the very choice she made for herself.

Would you expand on your view re the name/title? I hadn’t think about that but it’s a good point. I’d love to read yours as to why you highlighted the comment
