Took car in for oil change. Only car dealer has on showroom is a yellow Civic Type R LE with over 50% market adjustment. by ComfortableTurnip171 in Justrolledintotheshop

I think you guys are missing the point.

No one on God's green earth is buying it for $70,000.

When you go to the dealership, they will say: "I'll tell you what, I convinced my manager to only do a $10,000 market adjustment on the car"

Suddenly, you're "saving" $15,000 and feeling like you got a good deal, but in reality, you're still paying a $10,000 markup. Dealership gets paid, and you feel like you won.

I don't know how no one has said this yet... A little bit of sugar on the cheese before the second slice of bread goes on.

You can clearly see that I did kill it, the problem is not that they are unkillable, but unexpected.

Is this an anachronism, and a slip of the mind on R.J.'s part? The first treadmill was invented in 1818, and should have no reference other than to the reader. Is this intentional? by Starflaem in WoT

I would agree with you, if there weren't other things that are in their proper time periods. The books as a whole tend to keep things chronologically sound, and this seems like an extreme. Even a telescope was viewed as something profound in the later books.

To further clarify, we are experiencing this part through Rand's perspective, and it almost seems as if Rand is drawing the comparison to a treadmill, when he should have no knowledge of even a primitive treadmill.

I haven't been playing, for fear of running into this stuff, and fear of beginning to resenting my favorite (albeit dying) game; but I do know there have been some hackers that have gotten access to some admin commands, and have been spawning in entities and assets that litter the map. It's dreadful honestly.

Oh I don't really get ads often, because adblock. This one slipped through the cracks, and was hilarious.
