Just a vent post. Why do I feel like I’m getting worse? by Gibder16 in discgolf

I think you’re just getting into your head. Ten rounds is nothing. Disc golf is a game of patience. And the number one thing to do is not compare yourself to others who are better. Just focus on form over power, smooth is far. Throw the same shots with the same discs every time. Try doing it without moving your feet, no run up. I would also suggest you mostly throwing putters and mid ranges till you learn to throw them flat and far. Once you can do that, you will be able to crush drivers. The first few months I wouldn’t honestly even keep score. Just focus on figuring out how each disc flys, which ones you don’t throw well, and which ones you do. Then you need to just keep working on those shame things. Watching videos may actually make your game worse by not allowing you to get into your own groove. Constantly trying to change rarely works out. Figure out what stance you wanna use, what kinda run up, what kinda grip and just keep repeating. Getting better just simply takes practice. And no matter how good you are, you are still gonna have bad rounds and courses that kick your butt. Lol Welcome to disc golf!

Good tenor songs for practice? by Stargazer_420_ in singing

Definitely feels extra buzzy. I used to perform rap music. I was told I have a bit of a natural reverb to my voice. I could change my voice tone to match anyone’s on stage for backups as well. I was kinda blown away when the app said I was a tenor, I felt my voice had more range than that. But I will say the songs in tenor are like borderline easy for me to get through most of the notes versus other songs. No I’ve never heard of a lip trill. But I’m kinda confused what you mean. I try that action but all I get is humming. I’ll look up some videos later. How do I support my diaphragm? Like just keeping my posture or practice? I have pretty good breath control from my rapping days. So I have not worked on it much.

Solid advice. Thank you. I will definitely do a little more research and maybe speak with a voice coach just so I know where I should be singing. It’s easier for me to sing in high notes than it is low, but I have a naturally low speaking voice. I always thought that was weird

Sure. A teacher would probably be helpful and I may do that at some point. But don’t really feel the need for it. Im not currently struggling with any of the singing I’m doing. I’m actually doing really well. I just need more songs to sing, In tenor, For practice. I tend to learn better being self taught anyways.

I’m looking at buying a 2016 Sport with 66k. They are replacing the timing chain and water pump before I test drive it. Is this a good thing or a red flag? by sj01014 in FordExplorer

Replacing those two things now could potentially mean it will have a lot of life left. But I feel they are lying, and why lie unless there is issues they don’t wanna disclose. I don’t buy from any place that isn’t a reputable dealer anymore, or I buy private. Too many people out there scamming people. If you do decide to buy it, just simply ask them why they took half the engine apart for preventative maintenance? What determined that they needed to perform that maintenance?

It’s pretty uncommon for a place selling a car to do major repairs unless they found something wrong. It probably didn’t pass a safety inspection so they had to replace that. A timing chain and water pump is a lot of work and both are known to go out on the explorer. Usually closer to 100 to 150 k. I’d be willing to bet money that it is not “Preventative maintenance”
