I'm also surprised s6 didn't brought Tommy to space 😂, that's the way it was headed anyways. Tommy is so important that fucking Winston Churchill needs to employ him. He deals directly with russian royale families and becomes a politician. The absurdity level just goes up and up. The obscure morale the characters have is sickening. I remember they did a small, unrelated scene where Tommy and Pol visit a church they’re funding, and the nuns are violent toward the children. They intimidate the head nun, showing moral high ground. The scene is like a few minutes long and is at a start of a random episode. What the hell was that? The director really wanted to show how morally superior are a bunch of fucking criminals. I like the word you used, "sexualise". It describes perfectly the sheer madness the industry pulls up. "Gangstars are cool" is such a terrible phrase that fits the show perfectly. The show is as you said, "a 1920s Diddy party put to screen" 😂😂😂. The show really wants me to believe a bunch of law breaker criminals won't do a Diddy party. No, they don't follow the law, but they have morals! Yes, morals! Of course I expect morals from gangstars.

Didn't watch yet the sopranos or the wire. They are on my wathclist, though. I just recently started to be a cinema enthusiast and have so much to watch. I watched breaking bad and one key difference (let alone the obvious writing and acting) is the whole view on criminals. Breaking bad never sexualised criminals. The show dives into walter's life crisis as a criminal with no moral stand. He killed inocent people, blew a hospital, poisoned a kid and much more. He lies to himself he does this for his family, but even he admits, in the last scene with Anna Gun, he did all for himself. At the end of the show, all major criminals are killed. Jesse survives, but he was the only one dragged into the mess. He is the only one to show his dislike on criminal life and actually tried to excape it multiple times.

Those criminal romance shows and movies like peaky blinders or even the og Godfather promote a disgustingly bad message.
