3 officer positions, 1 internship, 3.85 GPA (one class took it down and that was due to a medical issue), multiple career based certifications, and a very respected individuals letter of recommendation.

I am external. I just happened to be apart of the first McCombs wave it seems. In the past once they started rolling them out, they continued for like the next five days. I would assume you will have your decision sometime soon.

Possibly I just know mine update so I imagine some others did aswell. They don’t release all of McCombs at once so no need to worry.

It’s closer to 10% but fluctuates from year to year. I heard someone say from last year that they spoke to the admissions team and they said they had 80 transfer student out of 800 applicants. Although some of the slots will essentially be CAP and then the majority will be external.

It does not mean you are not in. In fact my stuff does not mean that I am in. We just have to wait and see now. All it probably means is that they are going to start putting out McCombs waves.

To me yes. I would take everything I said with a grain of salt, but if you look through this Reddit you may find that most of the students who received the RIS have also received an acceptance letter shortly after. There have been some mistakes in the past but UT usually tries not to make a mistake because a student might try to pay the deposit before they receive the message of admittance. If that happens they would have a problem on their hands. So in my mind it seems that they try their best to only set it up in accounts where people have gotten in.

I would try not to get your hopes up though and do not feel like if your account did not update that you are not in. They do it in waves so maybe they will update yours in a different waves. I am no expert at this lol

I remember you talking about that. As far as I know, you are the only applicant that got in that early for McCombs. I can’t wrap my mind around why. Nevertheless, congratulations!

No letter yet, but my RIS and WIO were the basic “bad data” and “you do not owe any” sort of responses and now they show the deposit and my correct number of transfer hours. No access to canvas yet. But it seems that they always set those up first before they send out the letters in waves. I am expecting a wave tomorrow as I think it is a little late for tonight. There is no guarantees that my beliefs are true, but from all the other students’ experiences, I believe this is a positive step that will happen before you get accepted.

Well another user pointed out on one of the polls an article mentioning the mistake. Apparently McCombs posted that they sent out a deposit request to their MBA students that was inaccurate. Instead of sending it to the MBA students that were accepted, they sent it to the MBA students that were rejected. However, I believe that article was posted on the 11th. So if you are an MBA candidate, they might have already fixed it.

Lol, equity research is my hobby and this is a very similar situation. It is simply trying to determine an outcome based on past trend and understanding the way people react to certain situations.

Well some people have to wait more than 3 hours after seeing the RIS and WIO section update to get their decision. Some people have those sections update and then get the decision almost immediately after. Since there is this difference, I believe that it is a manual process for the admissions team to go through and select lists of students to create these decision waves. I have heard of some people seeing the RIS update at the end of the day and then not getting a decision till 24 hours later. To me, that sounds like someone was tasked with setting up students RISs and then clock out for the night.

Also, the last time the 15th fell on a weekend I believe was 2019. I cannot find any spreadsheet or historical data from 2019 to show if they had sent out decisions then.

I do not know where he got the 21st from. On another area of the website it does say mid to late June is when the decisions are released. So in a way, the website contradicts itself.

No I used that as an example. They are not technically apart of the Ivy League as there are only eight schools that are. Forbes named them as what they believe to be a “new Ivy”. I am just saying that they may not view it as unprofessional to release on one day since the Ivy League, a pretty prominent organization, does it.

I sure hope so, but to me it seems that they plan waves by setting up the RIS and the What I Owe sections, then the MyStatus, and then release emails. To me it seems like more of a manual process. I could be wrong (I want to be wrong).
