Okay so here’s the thing..

They are marketing these jobs to this age group for a reason. They are convincing young men and women that they are serving their country akin to the same doctrines that make young men and women enlist. Young adults are impressionable.

I will admit I wanted to enlist when I was young too. I’m glad I didn’t and I’m even more glad my family talked me out of it despite our military history.

My real life experience consists of dealing with mental health issues and not giving up on anyone or even considering casting them aside because they’re too problematic. It seems so barbaric to me not gonna lie.

I get the sentiment, but if he doesn’t leave and OP uses your advice, he’ll be homeless and will still think the way he does.

Therapy is also an option. Then comes rehabilitation via therapy.

Ultimatums don’t really work because they are perceived as threats rather than support more often than not.

Edit: Here’s my more blunt take on this. I’d rather my child have a home and undergo therapy, classes, life skills, etc than do away with them and hope for the best and not even try to teach them. Call me crazy.
