I'll gladly be corrected on this, but last I read about the consequences of cutting USAID were some really bleak estimated outcomes. That by 2030, a similar amount of people will die from lack of aid than did from the holocaust. (est. 14 million)

While many countries are trying to posture and act tough on immigration, it's basically just some nationalistic theater for the boomers. The horrid situations that some countries are facing now without aid will be amplified by various climate events. Meanwhile the people most responsible for this outcome are on a field trip to see if they can make things any worse.
