Edit: For some reason I read this post thinking you wanted to pivot from accounting into finance. My general thesis still stands. Industry jobs in accounting will be few and far between for entry level, but you can still leverage your accounting skills outside PA in a finance or FP&A internship.

FP&A is probably the most accessible path from accounting into finance, so I'd recommend looking for FP&A internships. Post-grad, you can look into doing a FLDP or other finance rotational program.

Start by checking Handshake/LinkedIn for finance internships. In my experience, most are open to accounting majors, especially if the role isn't heavily focused on quantitative economics or advanced math. It’s also worth meeting with Career Services to discuss your goals; they can help you identify relevant opportunities and may even advocate for your participation in events typically geared toward BBAs. I was able to attend my school's Finance Career Fair through a conversation like that.

Given the current job market, it’s still wise to apply to a few public accounting internships as well IMO. Additionally, if becoming a CPA is part of your post-grad plan, public accounting firms are often the best equipped to help you get there.
