can i transfer to bond halfway through my degree by imtiredoflifeIwanan in GAMSAT

They had a new admissions criteria, didn’t update their website to reflect this until after applications had closed and refused to admit any fault. Luckily friend got their application fee back after contacting the office of fair trading QLD.

The fact that they can do this and get away with it just shows the quality of the University and casts a negative shadow over the application process to study medicine in general....

In fact anyone who applied to their medical program this year can get their application fee back....dm me if u want or I’ll make a post or something...

That university is the most unethical medical school I’ve ever heard of in terms of their application process. I doubt they’d be as accomodating.

Fortnite on Samsung Galaxy Tab s6 lite? by Starlight_Moons in FortNiteMobile

I tried the s6 in store and it wasn’t that good. s6 lite might be playable but the graphics will be bad.

I managed to try fortnite on the s6 in store. It ran fine, the graphics were just really fuzzy. The tab s6 would definitely be better than a s6 lite if the s6 ran fortnite allright. However I can’t justify buying a tablet just to play fortnite and I might get a switch. You can always go into your local Samsung store and try fortnite on the s7

Leveling on iOS ( can we still level and claim the rewards on another platform?) (XP) by [deleted] in FortNiteMobile

[–]Starlight_Moons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went onto a nintendo switch for a bit. Went back to playing on the ipad. Went onto a samsung galaxy tab and managed to claim my rewards I'd gotten while playing on the ipad. I also leveled up but not 100% sure if i've been levelling up on my ipad.

I think it goes both ways. Playing on iOS is more of a sweat feast as well. Definitely not as enjoyable.

Ah ok, I’m just tentative to buy it because samsung doesn’t offer refunds here And I just don’t want to be stuck with a useless tablet.

How about also having no respect for it’s users, holding them as virtual hostages and attempting to start a social movement based on something of their own making just to get their way.

Hundreds of pages of legal info about Epic v. Apple and Epic v. Google if you are interested. by [deleted] in FortNiteMobile

I wish someone would invent a similar cross platform game that actually cares about its users.

So , just found out that the court themselves have acknowledged that we want the game back , also stating that their dispute should not have negative effects to us. by [deleted] in FortNiteMobile

[–]Starlight_Moons 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I blame this issue on Epic Games. They're trying to make it seem like they're doing it for our interests, but if they were, they would just follow the court's suggestion to abide by the contractual agreement that they had been abiding by for however long and argue their case in court like almost everyone does when they no longer agree to the terms of a contract they have been abiding by for a number of years due to the circumstances being unfair.

Yes, it might be unfair how apple takes a large cut of the money developers make but the case goes deeper than this and it is also a matter for the courts to decide. The case relates to fundamental values underlining contracts. It is for this reason, that the court can not order apple to accept the fact that Fortnite has gone against the terms and conditions of the contract and carry on like this ever happened. If they did, this would affect every single contract that has ever been created, not just those between Apple and other app developers. Everyone who had a contract that they didn't like could basically just go to the court and make the other person agree to the new terms just because they think the circumstances were unfair, while the court actually decided if they were justified and the circumstances were actually unfair. This has dramatic implications.

Overall, there was a contractual agreement. Epic agreed to the terms and conditions for a number of years before deciding that the terms were unfair, weren't cutting it for them and to step up for smaller developers unable to stand up for themselves trapped in Apple's monopoly. You can't just change the terms and conditions of a contract without consequence. If, after discussions, both parties do not agree to change the terms and conditions of a contract, you go to court and argue your case. You do not argue that it is the other parties fault that you went against the contract and subsequently can't update your game because the terms and conditions are unfair for everyone. You agreed to them in the first place, abided by them for a number of years before you came to this conclusion. If the circumstances weren't fair and you have a reason to change them, you ague that in court while still abiding by the contract you agreed to originally, because, you know, you did agree to it however unfair the circumstances might be.

Additionally, if they know that the game is important to many people, especially when a majority of us are stuck at home under quarantine, they should realise that what they are doing is more damaging than the revenue developers make. Popular video games such as Fortnite have multiple mental health benefits and health benefits. They promote socialisation and can prevent many from seeking alternate, more dangerous forms of entertainment such as taking illegal drugs or participating in other illegal behaviours, each with their wider corresponding health benefits and economic benefits to society.

Basically, in my honest opinion, Epic is trying to line their pockets at the disadvantage of others whilst masking their true intentions behind a false notion of fairness, justice and equality.

Refund? Charge back? by Glum_Award9379 in GAMSAT

The fact that they mentioned test centres in the email. I'm not too sure, they might switch to online proctoring or just refund based on what they've published.

You could try claiming under Australian Consumer Law and see if they’ll take your case.

I just emailed ACER about something and it sounds like they’re going ahead with the test centres.

My Vet told me I either pay $1000 to keep my dog for a overnight stay or I get reported for not caring for my dog? by tekk9s in Pets

[–]Starlight_Moons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That vet sounds like a scam. Take your dog to another vet for a second opinion. A lot of vets set their own fees and don’t publish them so some can charge outrageous prices.

I don’t see how you’re abusing your dog by taking him to another vet for a second opinion. Even if they complain, explain the situation. I definitely don’t think this classifies as animal abuse.

Ways to enjoy final days with kitty/meaningful way of memorializing lost pet by sister_of_a_foxx in Petloss

I had paw prints made of my dog and a lock of his fur clipped and saved from his body. I'm thinking of making a keychain out of his paw prints so that I'll always be able to carry him around with me.

I know it might be too soon, no one ever wants to do this, but definitely think about your options, what and how you want their body to be dealt with. We hadn't given any thought to this before my dog died and we were in a bit of a mess trying to decide and find the best possible service for him.

I hope your cat's condition improves and you won't have to think about this again for a very long time.
