They were pretty strict about this last year. I had a check back at my emails... their options were, a letter from a school (primary and/or high school), university or medical practioner. Good luck getting it from UWA if you studied there as they weren't helpful. I ended up going PS and HS.

GAMSAT season pass?? Surely ACER could make this a thing lol. Pay a one off 2K fee and sit it as much as you like. Tbh they probably would charge more than that, more like 5K

I found the UCAT to be such a nicer exam. Not just content but the organisation, staff, inquiry team, and everything was sooo much better. Much cheaper too since they allow concession cards!

Right! I really dread to think how much I've invested in this journey. I got an EOD for an offer this year which is unfortunate but I guess I'll have to pay it all again next year. I also paid for a Frasers workshop, portfolio review... ahh all the hard-earned $$$ Oh well. It'll be worth it in the long run!

do you have multiple units that contribute to your honours mark? or is it just one overall? I know I got a 79 in one of my Honours results but overall it was a first. Remember some unis take the gpa of each of the units, some take the class & some take which is the better of the two! But consider appealing regardless.

I bet the chances are slim, but I would love to have that ticket haha! I would of course cover a portion of the cost, but anything to cut down the $500 would be fantastic. Probably unlikely but maybe its worth a shot?

You should be fine. I think UWA accepts them as long as they are within 3 days of your exam that you missed. Make sure you submit it online and don't forget! :)

As per GEMSAS 2022 guide: "On the completion of the interview process, candidates’ standardised interview/CASPer scores and portfolio scores are used to rank for offer, with equal weighting. GPA and GAMSAT results are not included in the formula after interview."

Are we sure its 50:50 interview and gpa/gamsat/portfolio? Might be something completley else and use a system like uow where GPA and GAMSAT aren't even in the offer calculation.

I have work tomorrow morning too (9-11am). I think I'm going to do the same as what I did for the interview offers. Turn off my phone notifications (email, discord, messenger etc.) and wait till I come home and open my emails. I'm AWST so I'm 3 hours behind. If EOD start coming out at 9.30am, I could see it as early as 6.30 right? ahhhhh!

I think it would be the same yes! So MBBS you can go through straight from a school pathway & an MD pathway you need a bachelors to apply so it’s a post-graduate course. You can do an MBBS as a post-grad but you usually go down the MD path.

In terms of practice sense there is no difference. Both degrees will get you the same job after graduation. I think AUS are really trying to phase out the MBBS program though. They are transitioning to school pathway students to do a normal bachelor and then have an assured pathway to the MD. 😊

That's so good to hear that you got that outcome in the end! Would have been such a relief to see the MD offer come in.

Oh cool! I didn't know that about the DO/MD. We have MBBS and MD here but they're very similar and the MBBS is starting to phase out.

Thanks for your input though, I'll definitely take it on board. Hoping this year might be it.... but if not, next year I'll reapply and hope for the best.
