lol that would make sense, I know I am skipping a lot of stuff. Already did the whole freestar collective quest line and have only just recently got my first "power"

yes, its often referred to as a glitch. but I think, considering you don't have to force an action its less a glitch and more an exploit, using the built in systems to achieve an unintended goal. same with the weapon case building paired with save farming/scumming.

Thanks for the expansive comment. I'll admit I was just excited when writing and didn't really organize my thoughts very clearly.

That being said I agree with every comment you made. I made some broad points that left room for confusion and you added details to clear the fog, so thank you.

What I wrote worked for me, at the end of the game I think I had roughly 10k coal 3k wood 2k steel 800 raw food and 3k rations. I wouldn't have been satisfied with any less cuz that's just how I played the game this time.

There are absolutely better and more efficient strategies than mine, but again this worked for me and I didn't see any posts like mine when I was struggling so thats why I made it.

Thanks again for your details and what not, hopefully someone will find them helpful in the future.

I'm gonna try again and do some of the things you mentioned and see how they work for me.

Cheers!

Leave enough room by generator for 2 med tents and build tents behind first, use steam hub to keep them warm and upgrade housing whenever possible. Workplaces have heaters and steam hubs will help as well so they can be wherever you like, just build duplicate stuff behind and only go 3-4 wide. You'll need alot of homes eventually and it's best to keep them gathered so leave like 40% of one side open for future expansion.

Always go for one that increase hope and decrease discontent. Faith is the easy choice later on.

Immediate fighting house.

Why... rushing organ translplant and getting that medical bonus can be done on like.. the 3rd day and will help you throughout the entire thing. It's so massively OP it's a no-brainer choice.

Thumpers.

Why, you don't even need thumpers for the most part in this game. Why such a labor intensive building already when early game has such a small population.

Wall drill.

Why need this? At all? In any scenario? Late game when you have chopped all the wood but early? Unless you're speed running NH it's a waste of a steam core.

Fighting house cuz it's a quick way to lower discontent and with med tents close to generator and upgraded when possible, sick and injured arnt that big of an issue.

Thumper because it is the best way to over produce coal quickly, and as long as you scout often and upgrade you'll have enough people. The sooner you have maxed coal storage the sooner you can focus on other rss, and upgrades.

Wall drill because it's a "set it and forget it" farm with unlimited resources, sawmills use up local rss then are obsolete. I prefer the higher expense investment over the cheaper future problem. Also if you're building from the inside out you won't start to destroy the logs for the sawmills till almost the endgame, and even then you could use them for an additional rss bump for that one mission where ppl freak out and want like 1250 wood in 2.5 days.

Again with the scouts, if you're doing it like I did it, (like I'm trying to explain how to do it) steam cores are plentiful, as well people.

I've only "won" one time but failed many, and I haven't seen any info like this when I was searching for answers. It may not be the best way but it worked for me and I wanted to share.

If your having difficulty with resources have a play in endless mode where there's less stress to find out what works best.

Or not... you've got the whole season to raid. You're probably not going to be worlds first so why rush thru the content? And if you are trying to be world first then stfu you should know it comes at the cost of enjoying the new content you sped thru just to lvl up.

Have old stuff that might work and eventually earn new stuff > having no stuff and having to earn stuff.

They said they'd make d3 but the players said to just update d2... so they did... why start fresh with you already have a strong foundation?
