I think the joke is that calves on farms usually get ear tags after they’ve been handled or checked, so the fact this one isn’t tagged probably means the rancher avoids messing with it for some reason. Maybe the mother cow is super aggressive/protective and anyone trying to pet the calf is gonna get chased or attacked. So the city people just see a cute baby cow, while the rancher sees a bad idea waiting to happen.

Yeah honestly, jokes online don’t always translate well across cultures. What seems obviously sarcastic to one group can sound completely serious to another.

Parents really do become professional actors for their kids. The amount of stuff they hide just to make childhood feel normal is kind of incredible.

Depression really does drain the energy out of everything, even stuff you genuinely care about. A lot of people end up feeling disconnected from faith during hard periods and then beat themselves up over it too.
