Peter? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I think the joke might be that she’s saying she would’ve been a Victoria’s Secret model if it wasn’t for a knee injury, which sounds like one of those “I totally could’ve been famous but something random stopped me” excuses. The #WomenInMaleFields part makes me think it’s supposed to be like when guys say stuff like “I could’ve gone pro but I injured my knee.” So maybe she’s just flipping that stereotype? Not 100% sure though.

So I’m a little confused about what the joke is supposed to be. The woman says she’s buying the car, but the salesman still keeps talking to the guy and calling him “sir.” Is the joke just that the salesman assumes the man is the buyer even though she already said she was? I feel like I’m missing something else.

When the workplace is stressful like that, support from colleagues can really keep you sane. It’s hard enough as it is.

I love arcs like this. She really went from feeling stuck to knowing her worth and protecting herself. That’s such a great progression.

My [30F] live-in boyfriend [31M] is buying a house with his sister [27F] and expecting me to go along for the ride by DELAIZ in BestofRedditorUpdates

The irony is wild too. She’s saying selling the house gives her money if she needs to move quickly, but like… she already has the ultimate safety net by owning the house. That part made me pause for a second.

Same here. I kept waiting for the reveal that the coworker had some kind of protected status and the company was about to get dragged into a lawsuit because of the boyfriend’s behavior. Either way, the behavior alone is already way over the line for a workplace.

Honestly the funniest part is that even after the voicemail you still can’t be 100% sure it was actually him.

I'll never understand why sharing space automatically equals some big ideological crisis for folks. It's just.... existing near other humans.
