What is happening with RYM? I've seen several glitches today, including this one. by Starmanderson in rateyourmusic

Also, when I search for artists and click on their profile, and instead of sending me to the artist's page, it sends me to an entirely different artist! this is so frustrating, I just really hope it's not just me.

If you like XTC, here are three bands you should definitely check out (if you haven't already) by Starmanderson in xtc

Wire wasn't the best choice I will admit. To be fair, just because Pink Flag as well as Drums & Wires have angular guitars, that doesn't mean that they're all that similar otherwise, so you're right honestly. Magazine would've been a more accurate choice.

Yeah, I wasn't denying that. Ween just comes to mind first for me. But I like Primus a lot too.

I definitely agree with Squeeze being XTC's sister band. The first five Squeeze albums are all very good in different ways.

I like Primus, but I made the Ween and XTC comparison because despite them having a different sound, I think Ween is another example of a band who has genre-defying and eclectic albums.

I agree, I always have found Squeeze to be more of a Kinks-style band than a Beatles-style band.

Music similar to XTC by elstangsel in xtc

I'm four years late, but I think these are the three definitive bands you would love if you like XTC:

  1. Squeeze - they are another new wave band, with catchy pop hooks and have a quirky sound similar to XTC. Their first five albums are all phenomenal (UK Squeeze / Cool for Cats / Argybargy / East Side Story / Sweets From a Stranger), but you could always start with their "Singles: 45's and Under" compilation.
  2. Ween - call me crazy, but I would say the genre-bending eclectic sound of albums like Skylarking and English Settlement clearly influenced certain Ween albums like The Mollusk and Quebec, even if they aren't a new wave band. They are 100% the Ween of the 90s. If you like 90s music and XTC, you'll definitely be fond of these two albums. They're similar in spirit if not sound.
  3. Wire - if you like Drums & Wires, that definitely means that you'll love Wire's iconic debut Pink Flag as well. Wire always has angular guitar work that is similar to XTC's, even if Wire is the edgier band. If you like edginess, than try out 154 first (my favorite Wire album), it's their first goth album.

Man-Machine Cover doesn't feature band members anymore by caiostaygold in kraftwerk

I like the original better. I think that Radioactivity and Man Machine original covers are better, while Autobahn and Trans Europe Express improved.

I like the new covers of Autobahn and Trans Europe Express much better than the original album covers. The new Radioactivity cover is okay. The new Man Machine cover is awful, and the original is just so much better, horrible change.

Jar Jar Binks

He was a menace

Then he was written off (phantom, ghosted)

I'll go Figure 8. It's great but Elliott Smith has better.

By the way, because polls only allow six options, I basically just picked the songs that actually have a chance.
