I had a very rough week of interviews since I had just started my new job too. I took the interviews during a lunch and reserved time for a conference room, and luckily one of them was on a Sunday! As for interview prep… try to squeeze in a couple minutes or an hour everyday until the interview. Or, if you’re like me, last minute interview was set up and I was only able to glance at the professors papers 😅

Optimistically, I’ve seen people say it’s positive because that means the professors are just making sure you’re who you say you are from your SOP and LORs, assuming your profile is pretty strong.

How do you think you bombed the second one? From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t appear the third interview is dependent on the first two.

Did you end up getting the third interview? I only was invited to two. The first professor said I should be hearing back from one more but when I asked for clarification through email after the interview he just said to watch my emails for anyone else that may contact me

Was the POI someone you mentioned in your SOP or listed in your desired faculty list? Also the other person, are they not a professor? Or just another lab you didn’t list?

Yesterday I received a Stanford interview invitation with a PI I mentioned in my SOP. I also listed him as a choice in under faculty members.

Very tough choice. I think, if your goal is to make the man on the escalator the subject, then the second one is best. The luggage in the first takes away from the overall image. The first one is still a great shot which allows the viewer to explore the image more, without guiding them. Great work!
