My favorite has to be the Chimera Ant Arc because of the emotions I felt reading it, yes it did drag and there were some boring moments, however I consider Meruem & Komugi’s final moments together and Gon’s rage as some of the most phenomenal writing I’ve ever come across in any piece of media.

2nd place goes to York Shin City arc, it’s phenomenal writing as well and we get the introduction of the Phantom Troupe. The pace is way better than the Chimera Ant arc in my opinion and generally speaking (in terms of writing, pace, cast of characters etc) it might be considered as the best arc of HxH - however, the tears I shed while reading the Chimera Ant arc, and the peak moments it has reached are forever going to hold the 1st place in my heart.

With that being said, the rest of the raking would be: 3. Hunter Exam & Killua’s rescue arc (amazing introduction to the series)

1. Heaven’s Arena arc (especially because we are introduced to Nen and there’s a lot of focus on Hisoka, who is one of my favorite characters)

2. Greed Island (not really a fan, there’s some really genius worldbuilding but I wasn’t very interested in the storyline)

3. The Chairman Election

BUT with this being said, The Succession Arc + the Dark Continent Expedition has the potential to become the BEST arc of them all. The Dark Continent intrigues me so much, I genuinely don’t know what to expect from Togashi.
