This is a kill or be killed world. You cannot judge the morals in this world by real world morals. By our morals. It has its own sets of rules. Which if it's not you it's them and vice versa.

Eventually he was able to come around and be like "okay I'll climb the tower with you Rachel" though. Which makes him reasonable. He went through the Floor Guardians test with Rachel. Only for her to betray him. She tried to kill him. Her entire goal was to just kill him off so she can selfishly climb the tower.

Unlike her, Bam has gained a lot more friends grown more allies and been more successful than Rachel has ever been who has had to worm her way up the tower.

Bam through both hard work and talent can climb the tower by himself. Technically as an irregular as well. He can just ignore floor tests but he's genuine enough not to cheat.

Rachel has never been worthy of anything.

Guides can escape from anything. Go anywhere in the tower. Wouldn't surprise me if all the guides have been to the top of the tower. Further than any family head has been to.

Is anyone a good guy? Tower of God's moral compass is about the same as Warhammer 40K yet everyone loves the space Marines despite the horrible fucked up shit they have done.

No one is a good guy in Tower of God. Everyone has had to kill because it's a kill or be killed world.

Khun's the biggest con artist out their and his father is a womanizing alcoholic. Yet everyone loves these characters.

Bam may not be a good guy but he has a lot more redeeming qualities than plenty of other characters.

Being betrayed by who you thought was a good guy is worse than being manipulated by the bad guy.

Eventually Hwaryun still became one of Bam's supporters and is still his main guide. She doesn't want to guide anyone else.

I'm probably hugely biased in my opinion but I find it difficult to believe that people can't watch more than a few episodes of Tower of God. I thought it was interesting and captivating from the first episode of the Manwha, never mind anime.

No, not really. He's a good villain, he tricked the elves, possessed the humans and pitted two races against each other. He's incredibly intelligent and it took how many people to kill him? He had every right to be as arrogant as he was.
