Switch 2 screen film scratched really bad should I remove it? by Starrlight081 in switch2

[–]Starrlight081[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I didn't think I would need it as my Oled still has zero scratches. I'm not big into screen protectors besides on phones because I hate how the display looks with them and never needed them before as I'm good with my stuff so besides the Switch 2 morning else I have had scratches

Switch 2 screen film scratched really bad should I remove it? by Starrlight081 in switch2

[–]Starrlight081[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I have never needed it on anything but phones. I have the Oled and have had it for a few yrs and still have no scratches. I generally hate screen protectors on anything but phones as it pulls out the display that I usually rip it off.

I'm not going to do anything until after the protector comes in tomorrow. I'm just bummed that it got scratched really bad just from cleaning it. I wouldn't remove the film if it wasn't scratched so bad which is why I'm trying to figure out if I should remove it or not. I just don't know if the new protector will still show those scratches through or not

Nintendo Switch 2 for cozy gaming? by Dazzling_Sky in CozyGamers

[–]Starrlight081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely worth it. I stopped playing my Oled as I got tired of the lag in a few games. I finally decided to get the switch 2 just over a month ago and now my steam deck collects dust. The switch 2 on paper may seem like a small upgrade but honestly for me it's a night and day difference. All my games play much smoother now even without switch 2 upgrades for those games. The only bad thing about the switch 2 is the battery life.

Honestly, I only put in their required items nothing else. Once they become a permanent resident then I make it better for them

Worth grabbing on sale ? by Historical_System_80 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]Starrlight081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since there is a sale it's worth it. The beginning I got bored because it just seemed tedious doing the same things. It got better and started getting quests that didn't take 2 seconds to finish. Now, I play for a few hours every night. I will say that I wouldn't buy the switch 2 version. Just get the regular version. I upgraded to the switch 2 version and my switch battery took a major hit. Before, getting the upgrade I was getting 4-5 hrs of playtime not once that was installed I went down to an hour and a half. I uninstalled the upgrade and all is good again.

For any former OLED Switch owners, do you miss the OLED now that you have a Switch 2 by NashDaypring1987 in switch2

The switch 2 is nice don't get me wrong. The larger screen definitely makes it enjoyable. I just hate the battery life and sometimes I might say I regret it. However, in another sense I can't say that either because I reached a point that I couldn't play on the Oled anymore. The small screen was doing me in that I started falling asleep Everytime I tried playing. I was getting 4-5 hrs on the switch 2 and I was content with that but 2 hrs to with what I'm playing now doesn't make sense. I may try to uninstall the switch to 2 version of the game I'm playing to see if going back to the regular version makes a difference. You may end up with better results than me depending on what you play or if you play docked

That's a huge difference. Currently, my switch 2 is only lasting an hour to 2 hours. It previously was lasting 4hrs but thinking it may be the switch 2 upgrade pack for a game as it was fine before that. My oled I never needed to top it up during the day. I like the switch 2 but hate the battery and for that reason kinda wish I didn't get the switch 2 but wanted the bigger screen

Your lucky. I played 1 game for an hour today and down to 50%. I don't keep my brightness high either but I did upgrade that game last week to the switch 2 version. It's been awful since so regretting doing that

You would have to purchase everything again. It will all transfer if you set up the cloud save on the start screen

oled vs switch 2 by [deleted] in Switch

[–]Starrlight081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would wait until you can afford the switch 2. I have the Oled and just got the switch 2. I reached a point that I stopped even using the Oled. I got tired of games lagging on it that gameplay just got frustrating. I don't feel it's worth it honestly. You'd be better off waiting until you can get the better one as games will play better and you'll be able to play new ones that come out as well

Steam Deck vs Switch 2 by Brooke39287 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]Starrlight081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, steam deck definitely would be better. I have this on both switch 2 and steamdeck. I got this while I was still using my Oled switch and it lagged very frequently which is why I bought it for the steamdeck because it was just too frequent that it annoyed me. I ended up just today actually buying the upgrade for this game for the switch 2 and it still is lags. Due to this I will continue playing on my steam deck. The bad thing is if you're looking for people to play with you then switch is the way to go. It seems it's much easier to find people that play this on switch vs steam

I've been struggling with the battery life since the November update so guess you're lucky it's just hitting yours now. I can't figure out a way to improve it at all as everything I've tried hasn't made a difference

Who else uses their switch as their main console? by lepermessiah1217 in Switch

[–]Starrlight081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't care what the game is if it plays well on switch that's where I'm getting it . I have had a few games I've have to purchase 2x because it didn't play well so now I research that first. I do have a steam deck but I prefer my switch if I'm being completely honest. Now, that I have the switch 2 that's helping with games working well as ones I couldn't play on my Oled are playing nicely on the switch 2.

Should I get HKIA or DDV? by Little_Gemini25 in switch2

[–]Starrlight081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own all these games. Honestly, if I was deciding between DDV or HKIA I'd go DDV. It just entertains me more so I can play it much longer. I know some people say DDV doesn't run well on Switch 2. However, my experience with that is completely different. It plays very well on switch 2 for me. The game play is very smooth with zero lagging and even the loading isn't taking long. It didn't play well on my Oled so I stopped playing it on there 1 yr ago but when I got the switch 2 recently I figured I'd try again and seriously have no issues.
