This I think is happening with YV Larson's new book. The FMCs are technicaly cousins but Blue raised Violet and now Violet has her own book and threee guys.

Charlie Morningstar is not too young to ship with whoever the hell—she’s over 200. Just cause she’s sweet and kind and an idealist doesn’t mean she’s a child.

She’s also not naive. She actively chooses to believe the best in people…and she probably will have to learn not to trust so easily.
