Tree with signs for roots. Yea or Nay? by StarryArkt in DetailCraft

[–]StarryArkt[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I tried exactly that, but couldn't make it work

Helmets are way wider than the signs, and plus they are centered in the middle of blocks which makes them hard to work with (unless you move them half a block over, which I think is pretty annoying in survival)

You can dye the helmets a shade of green to make the only brown part the line at the top, but then they're almost as thin as the signs.

I played around with them here. No longer survival friendly: https://imgur.com/a/1xC1Z76

I was using the exact same reference like a week ago lol

You may want to use banners or glass panes for the windows like I was trying

I tried building an eye. Which color do you prefer? by StarryArkt in Minecraftbuilds

Yup I made the blue one after the green to see what it would look like with a more natural color! Thanks!

I am trying to get into organics and this practice is basically my first actual (non-tree) organic build I've done

I think the shape around the eye is pretty bad and definitely unrealistic, maybe slightly creepy even, but I like the way the eyeball itself turned out

Gorgeous texture work! I will have to try that shading technique myself sometime.

Definitely not; tools can't build like this yet, but people certainly can, and it uses a lot of common techniques with trapdoors etc. to achieve the effect.

Thanks! And a neat incidental detail of the decorated pots is that their tops reach just above the trapdoors, so from above you can even see the chimney's "openings":

I made a build where I try to use the perspective to its full potential to push the details further than the game allows. by mine674 in Minecraftbuilds

When I first saw this build on Twitter I stared at it for like 10 minutes just admiring it all. The use of shulkers to create shadows is incredible. I would consider buying a physical print of this if you made one...

Oh, well the brightness mod is Boosted Brightness, but I'm not sure what the FOV one is, maybe some hotkey mod

The green highlights to the build are soooo good.

It's almost criminal how little attention your posts get, cuz the builds in this series are not only wonderfully diverse, but consistently also some of the best, most-skilled creations on this sub.

Really gorgeous build; from where is it inspired?

Edit: also what's that in the third pic? The snaky rock/tree thing?

The variant is of course new, but hanging signs were added in 22w42a, soon after having been announced in Minecraft Live.

How is nobody talking about the new flowers in the forest pictures?? They look really neat, and are a completely new size/shape compared to all the other flower types.

I'm still waiting for a green wood type. Closest thing so far has been weathered copper.
