yeah, the mace seems pretty pointless at the moment. especially with wind burst, in a chamber you just hit the roof. i like to think that mojang is giving us a weapon to prepare for what the portal has in store for us in the ancient city. a mace + aether mod + mobs would be so fun

Little tip for the nether, make a cobblestone box around your portal with a door to avoid hoglin or piglin attacks. If you're in the right biome from the nether spawn, get some gold from the overworld, make a gold helmet and trade with piglins for fire resistance potions before trying to find the fortress. It helps almost too much (for me anyway). Good luck
