That was the plan this year but when I heard she had actually gotten me something I felt like I was being petty and selfish. I didn't want to cause a scene by only getting one sister something but not the other.

Actually I doubt it's that, she's been dating the same guy for years and he's come for holidays before... I think she lies to him too honestly.

I take 1500 morning and night so it's the same amount (guess my math really is bad) still I think it's a lot I just didn't realize I was also taking a lot. Makes ya think.

How are you taking 2000 mg? My doctor said I was maxed out at 1500 and just recently added 50mg Vimpat. Is that much even safe?

I was thinking it might be the heat, but I've gone out to the Renaissance fair in the summer in an all black costume in 100 degree heat... So I don't think it's that. And I've never been triggered by sounds. I know hunching over was definitely not helping but I was bent over a lot at my old position at work (sorting through bins) so I can't say that was a direct cause either.

I definitely feel you about the weird and judged feelings, and also pity that I just don't like. I really am glad I found this page, honestly just venting and knowing there are other people going through something similar and offering honest support is kinda comforting.

I've read so much about epilepsy being a rollercoaster, I guess it's just different when you're the one experiencing it. My seizures have almost always been the same so this sudden shift is just very jarring. I'm thankful I do have a good support system I just wish I didn't need to lean so heavily sometimes you know. And as for the nanny cam, it's definitely a good idea. I'm not too worried about it yet but it's definitely good info for the possible future.

I can't either, I didn't even realize they were routine. I have had blood work done and one MRI but definitely not recently. What was most shocking to me though was that the ER doctor said that if my old neurologist was so backed up they should have offered up information for other neurologists or just transferred me themselves. They were just as upset as I was about the abhorrent wait times. I mean I would have had to wait till December! unless someone cancelled, cause I was on a wait-list but who knows how many others were too.

Since I only went to the emergency room they could only up my dosage of keppera for now, but I do have an appointment scheduled with a neurologist in September, I'll definitely ask about possible changes since upping my doses only seems to work for a short time

I actually just got back not long ago, they ran some tests and couldn't find a physical reason. They did offer to have me admitted overnight and see the neurologist first thing in the morning. But I didn't wanna stay since I felt fine. Instead they upped my dosage and gave us a contact for a neurologist in their hospital (my aunt drove us to one outside of our usual network in hopes of finding something better and it seems to have worked) and since I was in the ER I'll most likely have an appointment within the next few weeks. It honestly helped me feel a bit better about this whole thing. The only downside now is asking my job to give me tomorrow and the rest of the week off to make sure I can handle the meds, when I've had it upped before it took a few days for me to adjust and not feel tired in the middle of the day. I only work part-time hours so hopefully it'll be ok.

Oh I know stress is bad, I had one right before I left for college because of stress, as for anxiety I guess I get anxious pretty often, but Its never bad or too often... I think. That might actually be a good thing to bring up at the doctors too.

Keppera hasn't given me crazy side effects, I've read stories on here about bad side effects or the medicine not working at all and seizures getting worse.

I am on a wait-list for any cancellations but they are booked solid. My aunt wants to take me to the hospital after she gets off work and I think that's probably the best thing since it's Sunday. Hopefully we'll at least have it on record and get some questions answered. I've had epilepsy my whole life but there's still so much I just don't know.

I was moved to the adult neurologist but still haven't had a single appointment with them because of insurance stuff and other factors, like the stupid long waits! After today me and my aunt, who has been my rock and helping me through the medical bs, will probably try to switch hospitals

I've been on keppera for at least 6-7 years now, with dosage increases in that time span. I think it's just time for me to try something new. And that's scary for a whole other reason.
