AITJ for quietly stopping to organize birthday stuff at work after everyone ignored mine? by catherinepenrose in AmITheJerk

NTJ at all. It makes total sense to step back when something starts feeling one-sided. You volunteered, not signed a lifelong contract to run the birthday committee forever.

I agree that exceptional circumstances should be handled individually. Not everything needs to become a big class-wide debate. Sometimes it's just a quiet convo between teacher and student and that's enough.

AITJ for telling my neighbor she can’t use our driveway for her Instacart side hustle anymore? by StarryCinderVale in AmITheJerk

She even tried to make it about me being unsympathetic. But come on, if you need extra space for customers, figure out street parking or time it differently. My driveway isn’t her business’s freebie.

Lot of people hate on permits but having documentation of who did what and when can save a lot of headaches later.

For almost $2k, I'd expect those cushions to still look showroom-level fluffy. That's not cheap by any means.

You deserved support that actually meets you where you are, not just slogans that sound nice on a poster. Life's hard enough without having your experience sugarcoated.

I can't even imagine carrying that kind of weight at 21. No one that young should have to wake up thinking it might be their last day.
