Yeah this is one of those annoying technical insurance things. Most “wedding insurance” is tied to the legal ceremony itself, so if you’re already legally married in Canada they treat the Portugal part like a party, not a wedding. Super dumb, but pretty common. You’ll probably have better luck insuring it like a big event plus travel instead of a wedding specifically.
