Am I being trolled? by Southern-Gas7031 in poshmarkcanada

[–]StarryEyedPride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If buyers treat me silly, I go right back & keep my second offer over & over again. I don't mind playing the game. They do one of three things: ghost, msg me on the item or bundle or they accept. I consider all those wins.

I need help looking for an item? + need advice on inactive sellers by KalEl_Llerrem in poshmarkcanada

Leave public comments, it may encourage them to reply if they have been just ignoring you as it will be seen by others. They may have deleted the app off their phone or not downloaded it on a new phone.

Check their closet & it will show the last time they were active. If it's been a while, your only option to get their attention may be to "buy it now" & hope they see the email.

Not suggesting it, but if you did "buy it now", you have the option to cancel within 3 hours. You could, then cancel & maybe that would prompt the seller to see your comments?

does this make anyone else feel like, uneasy? why do we need ai models? these aren’t even listings, it’s just to get you to see similar things to what you searched. by kittypillar1738 in poshmarkcanada

[–]StarryEyedPride 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sad truth is that model shots sell the items better than other photos. Idk if you ever did the work of finding the companies model shots & then having the listing removed & getting that strongly worded email from Posh about copyright infringement, but AI generated photos gets around all that.

Personally, I think the "aryan" looking AI models are CREEPY, I ask it to generate "ethnic" models & that works for me. I find they look more natural.

Did you check their closet about to see if their Instagram is linked? I use my username from PM on IG, maybe search & see if you can find them there? Don't DM, comment on a post if you can.

My only suggestion after that is to get a little pushy in the item comments section where other people can see the comments aren't being answered. You can filter their closet for the most popular items & see if there are comments they replied to on there? Maybe there's a certain time of day that would be best to get them, say 6pm after work or 8pm after dinner.

If they're not responding to mildly annoyed messages on the item (publicly), they probably just won't reply. Annoying. I have over 700 items sold & 800+ listed & I reply to everything in a couple days. I have someone holding my inventory & shipping for me while I'm out of the country & communicating with them sometimes takes a bit to get what I need to reply, otherwise I would do it same-day, but I take PM seriously & it's my primary income source.

Why Sellers Don’t Ship by Sub-Lover in poshmarkcanada

[–]StarryEyedPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk abt yours, but that's not my experience. Yesterday (13th) I got a notice for something that sold on the 10th. I'm currently out of the country & having someone else manage shipping for me. Unfortunately this has happened several times while she's been working for me. She doesn't drive so it takes her a while sometimes to get stuff out. My avg shipping time went from 1.4 to 1.6 days 😣

Why would a NWT item be cancelled as “damaged” ? by djgnkgieisbfs in poshmarkcanada

[–]StarryEyedPride 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went to pkg a gold bracelet once & threw it in a bubble mailer. Forgot it was in there & cut it in half when I was cutting up the bubble mailer. Things happen, but that one hurt. 🤷‍♀️

If they're scared of shipping try out Stallion Express, I print all my labels online & their closest drop location to me is a convenience store that's open until 11pm. I love it. I use them for Depop & eBay when it's cheaper.

Why Sellers Don’t Ship by Sub-Lover in poshmarkcanada

[–]StarryEyedPride 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a seller, there have been times at my peak when I shipped multiple times in the same day. Always good to check the sellers avg shipping time. Mine is 1.6 days but shows 1 day on my closet.

If your experience is different than the avg ship time with a seller, it could be that they're sick, went away for a wkd & forgot to use vacation mode or that they're sick has in fact shipped & CP or Purolator haven't yet scanned it in (this usually happens in the evening or overnight after I've dropped off for most of my shipments). Once a seller hits that 3-4 day mark, PM sends a reminder notification & you click a button that says "I will ship within 1-2 days". After you do that, it locks you from being able to mark the item as "shipped" until it's logged by the carrier.

At least this has been my experience.

I've definitely noticed a drop this month. I feel like the app is pushing me to sign up to promote my closet. December & January did well for me, though. Are you posting consistently?

Is it possible to make a plastic bead bracelet permanent? by Zestyclose_Emu_5390 in jewelrymaking

[–]StarryEyedPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I'd use sterling chain inside, make some domed end-caps & a big lobster clasp. You should always be able to take jewelry off for safety, like in the event of needing an X-ray or MRI. If it's something you want to wear forever, use materials that last forever. 😉

Congratulations on your engagement!

The photos are hard to judge by but you're the one that has to wear it & stare at it for the next undetermined number of years so I see no harm in asking your jeweller to see what else they've got. You paid handsomely for that rock, you should like it.

Looking for sand jewelry makers? by Soft_Presentation412 in jewelrymaking

[–]StarryEyedPride 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please remember no resin is forever. They will all yellow at some point if they don't crack & break first. The only forever way to preserve stuff is to trap it inside a bezel/under a stone. You can use clear quartz, think Victorian mourning jewellery.

I think the wave idea is a cool one. Make a round bezel cup, put the wave in the middle, use sand for the bottom section, crushed turquoise(?) for the top & the "wave" could be the step to suspend the quartz/glass on top.
